“We'll be back”

We came for a get away, we left relaxed. This was one of the best cared for and cleanest establishments we have stayed in. It offers more than a room, in fact the rooms have much to offer so we took some of these ideas back home with us to incorporate. Yes, we will back and recommend it to all.

“Hidden Treasure”

A very low key small hotel with the friendliest of staff who all have the "nothing is too much trouble" attitude towards guests. Rooms are cozy and romantic. This is a true hidden treasure that we will be going back to as soon as we can.

“A small and cozy hotel with a great experience”

First time for me and my wife to stay in a hotel like this. Used to stay in all those big names with similar services and look alike rooms. But Avila La Fonda hotel is quite different. Cozy lobby, with a small library and hundred of DVDs. A pantry in the lobby provides free fruit and coffee/tea. Though no restaurants in hotel, they can recommend several good ones around. The room is great with kitchen. The only problem is i don't know how to turn off the fireplace, made the room really hot. I took "notting hill" from downstairs and watched it with my wife in room, and, for free! Really like to come back again!

The Avila La Fonda Hotel in Avila Beach is absolutely gorgeous. The minute you walk in, you can tell that this is not a run of the mill hotel. The lobby is absolutely beautiful. There is a lounge adjacent to the lobby that offers a few couches, a 50" Plasma TV and a full kitchen. The staff is constantly in the kitchen making treats and drinks available for the guests free of charge. Some of the treats include fresh popcorn in the old fashioned popcorn kettle and fresh gooey chocolate chip cookies! The lobby also contains a book shelf that you may borrow from as well as a DVD library should you wish to watch something in your room. We stayed in a Spa Suite and I must say, the rooms are extremely nice. The shower had dual heads and 4 chest level jets, very relaxing. The jacuzzi tub is placed in the corner of the bedroom and is comfortable for 2 adults. The rooms all include a refrigerator, a 50" plasma TV and a DVD player. The room also includes a complimentary snack basket that is filled to the brim with a variety of munchies and drinks. The parking is underground with an elevator that brings you up to the lobby. This was a great hotel and very romantic. I would absolutely recommend it. The only downside (and the reason the rating wasn't all 5 stars) is that the hotel lacks air conditioning. The room does have a ceiling fan and a window to open, but this may not be enough for some people, especially in summer.

“Newfound delight near water in quiet California beach town.”

My wife and daughter and I really liked this new hotel a block from the shore in Avila Beach. Beautiful tilework throughout. Studio apartment format with excellent kitchen appliances, flat screen TV with DVD. Balcony over fountain. Fireplace. Murphy double bed and foldout couch. Many thoughtful details in the room and amenities. Whirlpool tub and double sinks.

“A very pleasant surprise!”

My family and I were on a tour of California's coast highway. We only wish we could have spent more time at Avila La Fonda. It was a wonderful experience. The hospitality of the staff was exceptional. The room was spacious and decorated beautifully (one of the nicest bathrooms I have ever experienced in a hotel). You'll love it.

this is the only place I've booked on line that was as advertised and it exceeded our expectations. The stff was friendly, the people in town were friendly. I had three places that I was wanting to consider, and chose La Fanda this time, but I don't think now I'll even go to the others next time we go back to SLO

“Charming Small Hotel in Quaint Avila Beach”

I cannot say enough about this hotel. it truly lived up to its billing. We had the casita grande for our family of four -- each room had separate tubs and showers. If you're going to stay for several days, the kitchen with full size refrigerator, stove and dishwasher is fantastic. Staff was friendly and rooms were very clean. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer and take advantage of the spa services.
