would have been a nice stay but there was no soapPosted Nov 30, 2013
Pros: bed- shower
Cons: cleaner floor was filthy, phone was dusty, suguar was on icebox coffee pot was dirty and in bathroom sink. Just clean it up
Location: only going fishing was close. Wife had car could get where she wanted to go.
floors were dirty no soap people over us left the TV on all night. They must have weighed over 300 pounds always jumping off the bed. Good showers towles could use some softener. Location was great the desk help was great. The bed was a good one slept good when we could. With a little work the standing could be raised and the price was good. Tip from the last people was still on the table (all change) we left $5 .

Best view of morro rockPosted Nov 26, 2013
Good value and great location just steps from famous Dorn's restaurant. The breakfast included isn't much at all but the view and central location to embarcadero makes it a hotel we would recommend.

Nice quiet location with views over the harbour. Staff friendly and helpful. Only minor comment ; the room decor was dated.

Cute, comfortable, affordable hotelPosted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: Affordable, close proximity to shops, bars, and restaurants. Also very clean bathroom and bedsheets, no smell noticed at all.
Cons: The décor, the bedsheets, maybe the window shades. It's not a 5 star hotel, but it does the job.
Location: Morro Rock, Montana de Oro State Park
This is a good hotel for an overnight stay. The hotel is really close to many gift shops and restaurants. The hotel is only 3 stories high, the 2nd and 3rd floor must have a perfect view of the Morro Rock because we were on the 1st floor and saw the tip of the Rock from our window. The heater worked, the shower had good water pressure, and the tv worked. The mini fridge and microwave was really outdated, but still worked. The front office staff is nice. The free breakfast was oj, apple juice, coffee, toast w/ jelly, and mini muffins. Very basic, but ok.

Close to restaurants and shopping, good viewPosted Aug 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is older without a lot of frills. The rooms could use better climate controls, no AC and only an electric baseboard heater and a fan to try to cool things off. When we arrived at night the parking lot was completely full and we had to park out on the street in front of the hotel. The shower was made for someone no taller than about 5'-7" as I had to stoop over to wash my hair and I am not that tall. The décor is all old cheap looking furniture and we were on the second floor which as we walked through the room squeaked and sounded loud even though we were walking fairly lightly causing me to worry about disturbing the people below us. The continental breakfast was not much, they had some bread to toast, butter & jam, coffee, OJ, a few store bought pastries, and some old looking apples. No cereal, oatmeal, eggs, sausage/bacon, milk, oranges, bananas, English muffins, bagels, etc. We walked down the hill to have breakfast. The hotel is not very expensive and it's located close to shopping and restaurants. The room was clean enough just really outdated.

a colossal wreck of a placePosted Aug 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
Booked thru hotels.com, expected a decent spot. Location was fine, but nothing else was pleasant. Low-grade beds and pillows, dark and dirty room. Zero sound insulation, so a horrible night where earplugs didn't even help-- no sleep possible. Worst of all: when we complained, the owner was explosive and aggressive to us. Some good news: hotels.com refunded a big portion of our costs.

Not bad but not great. An OK motel close to the bay. Nothing fancy and the price was about right. Nice people running The Breakers.

This was a last minute booking so took what was available. Continental breakfast pretty awful - wrapped rolls/muffins were not appealing. We had to go to office to fetch enough towels and toilet paper. It was nice to have the microwave and refrigerator. Location close to Embarkadero so we could walk to explore.
