“Morro Bay in the winter”

Our hotel was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast is nothing special, but there is fresh coffee, juice, waffles, cereal and fruit. Walking distance to the embarcadero and downtown Morro Bay. A very nice place indeed....

“Excellent Hotel”

This was a great place to stay. Except - no Pool or Spa. Otherwise perfect. Close to downtown and short walk to waterfront. We loved it. Stayed 2 nights.

“Great hotel, great service, very impressed”

Was greatly impressed by the service of the staff at the hotel. I had left my itineraries and other materials at the hotel by accident and they took the initiative to fax it all to my next hotel (without my instruction), which saved me a great deal of time and trouble. Again, was greatly impressed by the service and the staff, and the initiative here. Room was clean, location was convenient, staff again was very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Area recommendations
All along the Pacific Coast Highway, and the Morro Bay area and beach as well. Very scenic, very relaxed, very pleasant overall.

“Morro Bay Charmer”

La Serena was a definite surprise. It was everything I wanted: clean room, comfortable bed, very little outside noise, friendly and professional staff.

“Nicer motel experience.”

The room was large with a view of Morro Rock. The location is fabulous, within walking distance of things in town and the Embarcadero yet quiet. The entire property was extremely clean and well maintained. The breakfast was basic. The room could have used a comfy arm chair to complete the experience.

Great convenience to be in town or on the Embarcadero.
Must see
There is a heron rookery next to the golf course and Inn at Morro Bay. Large herons and egrets nest there in spring, and you can get great views of the adults and their young.

“very good quality for the price”

La Serena Inn is a very nice hotel. The room was pleasantly decorated and had a microwave and small frig for conveniece. The staff was very pleasant as well. It is within walking distance to shops and restaurants in lovely Morro Bay.

Area recommendations
The beach area is lovely. It has a wide sand area without a lot of rocks and wasn't crowded. Families, surfers, and dogs all enjoyed it. Dorn's is a fabulous restaurant on the wharf area.

“No frills, but adequate”

The rooms were clean, but the bed was really hard and the pillows reminded me of cotton candy -- no support or substance. I was not too impressed with the free breakfast either. They offered rolls, toast and english muffins with butter and (creamy) peanut butter (along with a few other breakfast choices)-- but there was no jam or cream cheese. This may seem like a small point, but for the rates charged by the hotel, I had expected a better selection. The parking facilities were cramped and narrow and difficult to use. One of the party used a walker, and there were times when it was impossible to load her and the walker into the car without moving it out into the driving lane. Thankfully there was not an accident.

“Deffinitly will go back”

My stay at this hotel was great! The staff was very friendly and informative when ask about surrounding businesses. Hotel was located within walking distance to shop along the strip and to the beach. Thank You La Serena for a great stay.

Area recommendations
I reccomend walking along the main business strip in Morro Bay, there are so many stores and resteraunts to choose from.
