Nice hotel but needs updating a bit.

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Staff very good & pleasant. Good location 2 blocks from harbour front.
Cons: Replace some furniture. All other stuff mentioned is down to the design of the building!
Location: Good start point for Hearst Castle & Big Sur. Morro Bay is a nice little seaside resort. Good food at Dutchmans restaurant.
We stayed 1 night - Morro Bay is a good starting point for Big Sur drive. Hotel staff excellent & informative but room a bit run down & noisy (other guests waking about in room above). Some furniture should be dumped (table etc very used). Overall - was OK for a 1 night stay. Not cheap but we stayed on 4 July.

Pros: Safe and clean. Interior hallways with pretty thick walls. View of Rock front room.
Cons: Hotel a little tired. Bathroom needs updating. A bit overpriced for three peeps in a room.
Location: Short downhill drive to beach and Morro Rock.
Had a pretty large room for three of us. Two queen comfortable beds. Fireplace a nice touch. Front desk help pleasant. Traffic noise a given on Main St. Waffles for breakfast a treat.

Stop off on route to Los Angeles

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: Free wine and cheese between 5-7pm was a nice touch. Breakfast was ok.
Cons: Decor was dated and not to our taste.
Location: Short walk down to the harbour and found a lovely restaurant overlooking the bay. Didn't have anymore time to explore.
Hotel was easy to find of the highway. Rooms were very dated and we had a room which sided onto the back of the hotel and was noisy due to traffic. Staff were pleasant but not overly friendly. It was an ok stop over point.

Loved the rooms of art!

It was a wonderful way to spend our 25th anniversary. They gave us the Love Suite with sparkling apple cider and an anniversary card waiting for us on the table! Also, on the bed were 2 swans with their necks in the shape of a heart--all made from white towels. Two white robes were waiting for us on the sofa. What a creative and artistic atmosphere! We enjoyed the free breakfast and free appetizers as well.
