Nice hotel close to embarcadero.Posted Aug 27, 2014
Good location. The hotel needs a little updating but is definitely clean. Free breakfast and Happy Hour with wine and cheese are a plus. No air conditioning so it was a bit warm.

Great for experience a time gone byPosted Aug 17, 2014
Since our trip was planned for a visit to Hearst Castle, the Masterpiece Hotel added to that experience. It felt like a visit in time, with comforts of of the present day. We loved our stay.

Different Type of HotelPosted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: The pictures throughout the hotel corridors invite you to take a look at them. The hotel staff willing to help with restaurant recommendations.
Cons: The bed was a tad bit too soft for me. I prefer a somewhat firm mattress. The coffee make "on" light was burnt out so I thought it wasn't working.
Location: Was only there overnight during our visit to Hearst Castle. Walk along the beach front is pleasant.
A smaller hotel with a pleasant decor that invites exploration. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and neat. Area was quiet and near the shoreline, perfect for a stroll.

Don't go therePosted Aug 15, 2014
It's worse neighbourhood in SF, simply avoid it by any costs. Room is tiny and packed with nasty people. And room costs from 300$ which is a lot even for SF :)

Hotel and rooms have a nostalgic flair. Unfortunately that also goes for upkeep of the facility. Rooms however are big. Breakfast is a bit meager and the facility very small.

Spa doorPosted Aug 8, 2014
We we're in rm 103 and the spa was located not far from us. The door was apparently broken because whenever someone went in or out it would slam. Also the room was very warm and the thermostat was just set on 70. Quite stuffy for me. Otherwise good place to stay.

Great find with amazing staffPosted Aug 2, 2014
This was such a great and much needed last minute find, which offered a home away from home feel with the friendly and warm staff along with the comfortable room. The receptionist Jo, took hospitality to another level by offering some great conversations as well as superb recommendations for food, activities, and sites to see around the Morro Bay area. I will definitely be visiting again one day!
