Traveling Sisters

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: This hotel was clean and the people running it were very nice.
Location: For people who enjoy walking the town is about a mile away with plenty of nice restaurants, shops, boat cruises, and rentals for bikes, kayak, etc.
My sister and I were traveling together from Arizona to northern California and spending the night in places we would like to see more of. We booked this place based on the price and location, all other hotels/inn's were much more expensive. We were only staying 1 night and moving on in our travels. This hotel is nothing fancy, but if you're only looking for a place to sleep it served its purpose.

Small family run motel

Pleasant motel. Room was clean. Bed comfortable. Shower hot with good pressure. Internet fine. No breakfast room but breakfast is provided and you take a tray back to your room.

Old motel that will do in a pinch.

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Location and it was clean.
Cons: WiFi
Overall a pleasant experience. We haven't stayed in a motel in ages and forgot about the people rolling in all hours of the night, the "chirping" car alarms, slamming doors, and lots of noise associated with people coming and going. Since there is no A/C, you have to leave the window open which only makes it worse. The place was super clean and not skeevy at all, which was nice. The office is about the size of a postage stamp which made the "continental" breakfast area big enough for 2 people. The guys in the office (father and son?) were very nice. Although they claim to have WiFi, we could never connect because of poor signal strength (and the whole place is tiny, so I don't know what was going on with that). Staying here reminded me of travelling across country in the early 70's, except they have no pool!

Perfect for short stay

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: Convenience, location, and price. All the rooms are facing toward the harbor area, but it would seem the second floor has the best views.
Cons: Would be nice if there were a bit larger area for breakfast. Took to room. Maybe a table and some chairs facing the harbor for use on a nice morning
Location: Harbor restaurants, state park with golf course, fishing charters, harbor boat tours, Hearst castle near. Walking along the shore.
One night stay for older couple. Very plain accommodations, but comfortable bed and well maintained room. Small refrigerator and microwave. Good view of The Rock from our second story room. Easy walking distance to shoreline restaurants and shops. Convenient access to and from highway. Could hear the seals barking and the regular sounding of the fog horn. Enjoyable sights and sounds without leaving the property. More than met our expectations after an afternoon on Highway 1 heading south. Beautiful weather when we were there. Plain, minimal breakfast, but we only wanted coffee and cold cereal, so we were fine with what was offered.

A fabulous find!

Posted May 18, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: The problem is improvements would cost money. This hotel is just fine the way it is!
Location: Morro Bay, great seafood, Seals, Sea Otters, wildlife, great beach, Highway 1.
We only intended to stay in Morro Bay in transit and ended up booking an extra night here. The motel has classic american charm about it. Its clean and tidy, well run and good value. The view on a morning is fabulous as, despite been set back a couple of blocks from the sea front, all the rooms look out across the bay and Morro Rock. You can even watch the sunset behind the rock! Stunning. Forget Monteray Bay - stay here in Morro Bay instead!

Walking distance to shops, close to Morro Rock

Nice staff, clean room, a lil small but ok. Advertisement said all rooms had LCD HDTV's, which was a big reason for us choosing this hotel & they were the old tube TV's we couldn't hook up our game system or watch our blueray movies.

Clean, comfortable, cheap!

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: Clean, fridge, wifi, breakfast
Cons: Small east facing window could have had window covering to block morning sun!
Location: Morro Bay is a gem! We kayaked in the bay and saw seals and sea otters. Cute town to walk around. Nearby is MontaƱa de Oro State Park. BEAUTIFUL!
I was very happy with this hotel. Super affordable, 2 blocks from the ocean (easy walk), with nice view of the rock from our window. The room had a fridge, microwave, coffee pot, hair dryer, cable tv, free wifi. . .It was clean, comfortable, just what we needed and nothing more. Free breakfast in the morning was simple but enough: muffins, cereal, coffee, juice. If you are looking for a "nothing fancy" place to overnight in Morro Bay, this is a good choice.
