Sub-Par Experience

Posted Jul 5, 2015
Pros: The Staff was pleasant, and the facility was conveniently located to the event we were attending.
Cons: Improve the security, there was easy public access to the facility. Some card-key readers did not work.
While the staff was pleasant, the accomodations were sub-par. The TV was broken, the side lamps next to the bed did not work, the clock was broken, and the smell of smoke was strong in some areas. There was an event in the area, so the facility was at capacity. Therefore moving to another room was not an option. We dealt with the situation as best we could, but checked out well before "check out" time. We will not be visiting this facility again.

Great Hotel

Posted Jun 10, 2015
Pros: spacious rooms
Cons: newer furniture
Location: not as convenient
Short stay but overall experience was pleasant. Breakfast was standard. AC inside room was old therefore making that clicking sound.

Ideal location for our Quilt Run

Posted Jun 2, 2015
Pros: Convenient location, cleanliness, good breakfast, friendly staff, comfortable beds, nice shower head, double sinks, coffee in room
Cons: additional electrical outlets and flavored creamers in room and breakfast area
Location: Hotel is right next to the Madonna Inn, very close to the downtown shops and easy access to the freeway.
The hotel was easy to find and close to downtown Santa Maria. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was nice to have decent food choices for breakfast: waffles, toast and jelly, scrambled eggs, sausages, English Muffins, yogurt, apples, milk, juice and coffee. We were able to enjoy the food before heading into our day. We plan on staying here again for the next quilt run.

PICTURES DO NOT TELL THE TRUE STORY! BE LEARY.

Posted May 8, 2015
Pros: NOTHING
Cons: it needs to be fully renovated. Everything is not only old, but shabby and not kept up except for the grounds, they were ok
Location: next to the freeway, ok area, nothing to do near by. Ihop and some fast food next door.
First off the pictures on the website, make the hotel look @ least decent. BUT when we got to hotel there were few cars and some very beat up ones in the parking lot. The front desk girl although she had a nice voice, was not very friendly, never smiled and didn't offer to help in anyway if we needed anything. On the way to the room the hallways smelled like smoke there were guys bbq on their patio & looked trashy. We got 2 our room, the carpets were badly stained, the curtains were very shabby & I personally was not keen about sleeping in the bed.We called the front desk 2 see if they had a more updated room, (they were in the process of replacing carpets in some rooms) & she did find us another room w/newer carpet. When we got 2 the new room, the carpets were better, the bathroom was very clean & it was at least decent. Although, the drapes in this room had rips in them that looked like an 8 year old sewed them by hand & the black out curtains had literal holes in them & at least 50 pieces of duct tape covering other holes all over them. It was disgusting to me. It was very late & we were extremely tired & decided 2 deal with it in the morning. The bed seemed clean so we stayed. When we went 2 check out we called Expedia 1st & they tried 2 get us a refund from the hotel but they refused since we spent the night. I will never stay there again & will be contacting Choice about the experience.Expedia was great & did give us a credit for our next trip which was excellent.T.Y

OK for one night

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: The employees are friendly. There is a nice continental breakfast available in the mornings.
Cons: Rooms would appear cleaner if updated, which it appears they are planning to do soon. Mattresses are not comfortable.
Location: Located near the local hospital. Dinner at original Hitching Post restaurant in Casmalia was excellent- reservations necessary.
The front desk person was very pleasant and efficient. The room had very dirty carpet, but it looked like they were getting ready to replace it, judging from the carpet rolls in the parking lot. Walls are thin, but most travelers were considerate. Cigarette smoke does drift upward into non-smoking rooms, so you may want to ask for ground level floor if you want to avoid smoke.
