“Would stay again”

Clean, great location. Very reasonable. Beds were a little too firm, back was hurting in the morning.

“Easy, nice place.”

Call direct for a balcony room. Otherwise very comfortable and easy walk to the wharf.

“loud air compressor”

The air compressor went off every 10 minutes. The bed was so-so and the rooms needed new carpet. Good location.

“Not Impressed”

This hotel is less then satisfactory. Our room smelled of cigarette smoke, carpet was stained, missing outlet plates, torn bedskirt. I would have checked out immediately if I wasn't going to lose the full amount. I would have been willing to pay a penalty.

I recommend the same area, just not this hotel. We have stayed at the Ascot Suites numerous times, I would recommend that hotel. We thought we would try somewhere else, what a HUGE mistake.

“Price is right for what you get.”

The place was a little better than expected at a decent price. On the negative side, the owner / manager was not available after hours. An outside number had to be called if one needed to talk to someone.

Area recommendations
The next time we travel to Morro Bay we would prefer staying on the ocean front drive, Embarcadero Dr., where there are many restaurants and shops withing walking distance.

“Better than expected”

Didn't get my hopes up based on some of the reviews but it surpassed my expectations by far. Very pleasant gentleman at the desk. Fast check in. I liked that the hallways were indoor, kinda made it fancier. Just a bit bummed that the spa wasn't working. Otherwise room was great. Nicely decorated with fridge and microwave. The bay view from the balcony was nice as well. Will definitely be back!!

“"Not Impressed"”

Excellent location - within walking distance of The Shell Shop, Aquarium, seawalk, and restaurants; clean room; some leakage problem with the water inflow to the toilet; BUT trapped in motel elevator for approximately 50 minutes before being released by an emergency technician. We thought there should have been at the least some compensation other than a genuine “We’re sorry.”

“We'll be back again.”

This was clean, comfortable, no street noise and near the beach. Hotel lobby smelled slightly of curry cooking fragrance, but was clean and service very good. Parking is hidden as it is underneath the hotel, unlike many California beach towns. No pool but we had the hot tub all to ourselves at 7:00pm. Good value for out dollar.

Area recommendations
Go to the tide pools at the State Park. We spent hours there with teenagers! Beach can be cold and windy. Wear sweatshirts over your bathing suits. Morro Bay is beautiful. We've always had a great time there with great restraunts, shopping, and of course the Beach!
