Overpriced, overvaluedPosted Sep 2, 2014
Unless you are on an expense account, this is not the destination for casual vacationers. For $650 a night in a "bungalow" room- the "bungalow" is actually shared by two other units- Cordevalle cuts corners in the use of building materials (average white tile instead of slate or marble), no CD player (only a cheap iHome system), and cheap artwork. Front desk service is somewhat unpolished and the surrounding area (Gilroy, Morgan Hill) has a paucity of good dining options.

Beautiful Hotel! Wonderful Stay!Posted May 20, 2014
Pros: The property is beautiful. They have hiking trails. There is a winery for tastings. Spa and golf.
Cons: Could use a little more variety in food choices.
Location: There is really nothing to do near by so I wouldn't plan on being there more than a couple of days.
We arrived on Sunday afternoon (Mother's Day). Our room was not ready so we went to the winery for a tasting which was fun. We stayed in a fairway room (which is the least expensive). There is a private courtyard with lounge chairs which was very nice. These rooms do not have a view of the golf course or mountains but we don't stay in our room much when we travel so we didn't need the view. The room and bathroom are very spacious. There is also a wet bar area with a coffee maker and fridge. The fireplace in the room did not work which was just a little disappointing since it was chilly one morning when we woke and we would have turned it on while we had our coffee. We booked massages at the spa which is small but also very beautiful. They have a whirlpool and steam room to be used by spa guests which was very nice. The women's locker room was well stocked with plenty of towels and toiletries for use. There were only two restaurants open but we were only there two days so it was ok. I think the lack of variety in food choices might be an issue if you stayed longer. My husband played golf with a caddie and enjoyed his round. He found the course to be challenging but not too difficult. Be aware that they charge your caddie fee with your round. This was not made very clear to my husband who paid the caddie directly for his service basically double paying for the caddie fee. We also went on the hiking trail which is challenging but beautiful.

Hidden GemPosted Mar 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
This resort was so delightful. The staff are 5 star. They make all their own breads, jellies and great choices on their menus. We will be back as soon as we can.

5 star resort in the hillsPosted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: Great staff, quiet, excellent beds, Krieg coffee in the rooms. Al the perks of a 5 star resort.
Location: In the hills above Gilroy. Great day trip from San Francisco or San Jose. Outlet mall. The garlic festival is a good time to come.
I was looking for a hotel when we traveled from San Francisco to the outlet mall in gilroy and came across this gem! From the moment you drive through the gate pass the fareway house with their vineyards, you know you are in a special place. This is a golf resort so you can rent a room, bungalow , or house. Everyone must have been trained well because the service was as good as any Four Seasons resort. Golf cart ride to our room which was a junior suite. Bath with whirlpool tub and separate shower big enough for 2. Food at the Iron Bar was excellent. Great place to watch March Madness. This a resort so expect to pay resort prices but not out of line with other resorts we have stayed.

Good but could be betterPosted Feb 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
The resort is beautiful and so green. Staffs are nice and helpful. However, when compare to other resorts which have similar rates, Cordevalle doesn't have many complimentary activities for people who don't play golf. In addition, there is nothing much around that area except outlets and garlic farms. Therefore, for whom are looking for an upscale, closed-to-nature, beautiful resort but don't like playing golf, you may consider going somewhere else. There are many nice resorts in NoCal. But I am sure that golfers will enjoy staying there.
