From the minute we stepped on the grounds, we knew this was the place to be. The the beautiful landscaped grounds, the warm swimming pool at perfect temperature, gourmet food and excellent service. Everyone wants you feeling comfortable and satisfied.
Within walking distance is the historic site of Antotonilco, where vendors sell folkloric art at reasonable prices and yummy gorditas. Also close are the natural hotspings, horseback riding--all needs fulfilled. May I suggest the Amor suite. We called it the honeymoon suite. A place where honey drips all night.

My wife and I stayed there for 4 incredible nights.
The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The service is the best I've had in my life.
The food at the hotel is very very good.
The facilities are nice, the pool area is beautiful and the rooms are big and pretty comfortable.

The hotel was in a good location. Our junior suite was spacious however the electric lighting was extremely poor. The tv for such a large room was too small.
The faucet installation in both the living area bar and bathroom were poorly placed. Frequently there was flooding onto the counter in the bathroom.
We had breakfast at the hotel the first morning and never returned. Choices were too limited and several listed items were not available. Although our Expedia confirmation indicated we had the European Plan ( which we assumed meant Continental breakfast ) we were advised that in Mexico it apparently means NO breakfast is included in the room rate! Another reason not to eat in the hotel!

Unexpectedly nice place -- large courtyard with lovely topiaries. Good-sized room. Short walk to downtown, maybe four short San Miguel blocks. Staff pleasant though not enormously energetic -- my request for matches was met with a shrug. The hotel has a decent restaurant but much nicer offerings are available within a block including Hecho en Mexico and a great Italian place called Antigua Trattoria Romana, and of course San Miguel has dozens of great places to eat.
