A very special experiencePosted Jan 20, 2014
Villa Soro is a beautifully restored Victorian property and features such as the log fire, the gallery and the breakfast room all contribute the mood of excitement you feel when you enter the place. Sometimes I don't feel comfortable using communual areas but the villa feels more like a home, and we enjoyed having drinks in front of the fire before heading out for dinner each night. The beds are really comfortable and the staff are all really nice, particularly the receptionists. Would definitely recommend visiting for a treat.

Old World Luxury!Posted Nov 23, 2013
Pros: Pretty much everything
Location: 20 mins walk to old town, less to bars in Gros.Lovely city,go & try those amazing Pintxos!
Small hotel in 19th century Villa, 20mins walk from centre of San Sebastian. In 20+ years of travelling, this has to be one of the finest hotels we have ever stayed in.Beautiful guest room, the hotel dining room & lounges are in the old villa, absolutely superb, even the original mahogany in the bar.Staff fantastic,so helpful & friendly.Breakfast superb, freshly cooked, faultless. There is room service , but no actual restaurant. However there is world class Basque cuisine on the doorstep!Parking is free, the hotel is on a bus route,& a taxi back from town is 7 or 8 Euros. It has a pretty good gym.

One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. Cannot think of a single negative. Wish we'd stayed longer.

Charming and Different.Posted Oct 16, 2013
Pros: Bicycles available for use of Guests. Indoor and outdoor dining.
A lovely property with private grounds, but unfortunately beyond walking distance from the picturesque Old Town, Harbor, and Wonderful Beaches of San Sebastián. Several stairway steps from grade to lobby level will be a concern for mobility impaired travelers. Property itself is lovely, comfortable, and different.

Area is nice and quiet, but it's quite a far walk to downtown and to beach. You can rent bikes though. Room was clean, but our shower drain was really slow. Service was great and friendly staff.

Fitted the bill perfectlyPosted Sep 9, 2013
Pros: Clean, well managed, friendly and, above all free and effective WiFi, why can't more hotels be less greedy and do this?
Cons: Very little, it fitted our requirements for this particular trip perfectly.
Location: We were there for specific reasons but the hotel is well situated within an easy 15 minute walk to the seafront and the local cafes and bars.
A quick trip down to San Sebastien for a couple of gourmet meals, Murgaritz and Arzak to be precise, ( both of them excellent by the way) found us staying for 2 nights in this very pleasant hotel, as close to the action as we needed to be as a car is pretty useless anywhere closer to the action of the seafront, about a 15 minute walk. The hotel was welcoming and efficiently run, plenty of space for car parking and an excellent breakfast into the bargain. Perfect for what we needed and would not hesitate to stay again should we return to the area, a distinct possibility as there are some more eating emporiums waiting to be tried!

Not too centralPosted Sep 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
The place is very pleasant, but about 15 minute walk from the centre, which for such a small place is quite a way away. The customer service was not amazing, the staff did not speak very good English and I would have expected more for the price. However the hotel itself is nicely designed and cosy.
