Wished we'd been able to stay longerPosted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, food
Location: Perfect for visiting Hearst Castle, which is amazing. Also San Simeon village, and nearby beach with elephant seals.
Stayed overnight on journey south so we could visit Hearst Castle early next morning. This hotel was a gem, and we wished we'd had an extra few days. The location right on the beach was great, the grounds were spacious and fire pits were lit at night so people gathered around and chatted. Staff were welcoming and both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were first class. Hotel was ideal for our purpose, being only five minutes drive from Hearst Castle and just off the freeway. Would definitely use again and recommend.

Great place to stay right on the beach!Posted Jun 24, 2014
The room was clean, minibar well stocked, and coffee maker was stocked and user friendly. The hotel staff from front desk to maintenance staff were very friendly and courteous. Room service was delivered @ the time promised and was delicious! We loved making smores with the bonfires @ night and enjoyed socializing with other travelers. The sights were a short drive from the hotel and the restaurant had some really good food! We enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back!

Pros: Location set out f rooms all have views I think
Cons: Room service meals
Good service, room service meal could be improved but that was my only negative, we ordered club sandwiches and fries and it was only just warm when it came.

A beautiful place to stop over between LA and SFPosted May 9, 2014
Pros: The firepits and large size of room
Cons: It suited us perfectly, no need to improve
Location: Hearst Castle Cambria is a lovely town nearby with an Alpine charm
We stayed for one night when driving the highway 1 LA to San Fran. A beautiful location with fire pits overlooking the ocean for guests to enjoy and after dinner drinks by. The rooms were large, warm, clean, beds comfortable, large flat screen TV and good bathroom facilities. It was fully booked when we were there, staff were wonderful. I wish we had stayed longer, I would definately stay here again.

Close to Hearst CastlePosted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: The best bed out of my one week of sleeping in different hotels.
Cons: Add continental breakfast. Also the wi-fi was very poor
Recently stayed with my wife and kids. Very nice hotel right on the beach. For a family I tought it was a bit expensive but it was worth it. Overall my experience was a good one. The only thing about San Simeon is that most restaurants close by 9 or 10 pm
