Very quite setting near to the town

Posted Dec 22, 2014
Pros: Location, price, and feeling that the staff cared about your comfort.
Cons: It would be nice if they invested in some artwork for the rooms. It would be nice if the facility reflected the arts in the community.
Location: The Hurst Castle is only a few miles away as well as the beautiful ocean views and great shopping and dinning.
We stayed here recently while visiting the Hurst Castle and found it to be the best experience we have had in places to stay in Cambria. It is dog friendly which was a big plus for us. Loved the gardens and the fireplace in the room.

Fun, comfortable and festive

Posted Dec 19, 2014
Pros: Warm, friendly, only 4 units to a building.
Cons: See above remarks about the eating area.
Location: Hearst Castle, Elephant Seals, the "town" of Harmony. Also we drove to Coyucos (I know I spelled it wrong Great shops & eateries in Cambria.
The rooms were pleasantly large and very comfortable. Loved having the fireplaces in both living room and bedroom plus a nice balcony. We were fortunate to have a balcony overlooking the wonderful holiday lights and hear the gentleman strumming and singing Christmas carols. The staff was very nice and the food was pretty good. However, I would suggest that you try to revamp your eating area for breakfast. There is too much traffic to get your food and get to your table with the coffee juice bar right in the traffic area. But otherwise, we will sure recommend the Cambria Pines Lodge and hope to return again some time soon.

Pros: Ambiance .... and of course the Xmas light show/.market and the included breakfast.
Location: Great location for many little towns, Hearst Castle (where we also went) elephant seals and so on.
Experience was much better than I expected all the way around !!!!! Really enjoyed their Xmas light show/market and their breakfast served in their warm and homey restaurant. Love their grounds and the nursery across the street is amazing especially at this time of the year. Liked their close proximity to Hearst Castle which we also visited this trip.

A bit disappointed

Posted Nov 21, 2014
Pros: The grounds, the staff.
Cons: See above. The breakfast buffet could use a different traffic pattern somehow. It gets very jammed up by the coffee/juice/water.
We've stayed at the Lodge many times. Our room, this time, I believe, was not up to their normal standards. The carpet needed replacing-there were places where it looked stained, the doors of the armoire rattled when we walked by, so much that we had to leave them partially open. I had misplaced an item and looked under the bed where there were cotton balls and q-tips. The room seemed overly noisy in that we could hear our neighbors upstairs both walking and conversing. The fireplace had a Duraflame log, but we couldn't find anything to light it with. We will continue to stay at the Lodge as it is convenient and a lovely place to stay. I'm just sorry this room was not up to the quality of the rooms we've had previously.

Close to Hearst Castle

Posted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: Comfortable. Full-breakfast included. The gardens looked nice. Kind of wish we had more time to spend here.
Cons: sound between floors.
Location: Hearst Castle, Pacific coast
The facility and grounds were nice. On-premises restaurant had an upscale dinner menu and was very good. Our room was on a lower floor, which was good for access; however, you could hear every footstep of the people in the room above us. If I went back, I might consider requesting a 2nd floor room.

The Pines

Posted Nov 6, 2014
located in a quiet spot of the tourist hamlet of Cambria, Calif. The Pines is a full service lodge offering modern well maintained bungalows throughout the sprawling compound. Easy access to Cambria's village and beach areas. I'd have no problems with staying there again.

Very nice location and atmosphere.

Cons: The rooms have no insulation on the walls and on the ceiling. You can hear the person next door snoring, and the one upstairs walking.
Great time, just need to insulate the walls and ceiling.

Good Lodge Vibes

Posted Oct 16, 2014
Pros: Everything there and a short walk to town.
Location: Scarecrow Festival at the time of our end of Sept. visit. Really clever. A trip up to Hearst Castle is always fun, Elephant seals put on a show.
Great check-In. Huge suite. Even had a Murphy bed and sofa bed in living room area. A fireplace there and one in bedroom. Very woodsy area. Lodge dining room had good food, nice staff. Pool and hot tub area were a great bonus. They own a nursery across the road that was worth the visit.

Cozy, intimate, nestled in the pines, romantic

Posted Oct 12, 2014
The rooms and facility are quiet, the rustic decor exudes coziness and intimacy. The buffet breakfast was a welcome surprise from the cheap thrown together continental breakfasts at other hotels. The staff is friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. They seem well trained to notice patrons that are looking for help.
