Ok stay for a night. Overlooking the ocean.

Pros: Rate. Not bad for an overnight stay and it's close proximity to Paso Robles, CA.
Cons: The whole facilities could use a renovation on the outside.
Location: Near Paso Robles, Hearst Castle, beach
Ok stay for the night. But was a bit leery whether the bed has bed bugs.

Good access to Cambria without the crowds

Posted Oct 27, 2014
The bathroom was very small and only one of the two sinks on the vanity worked. But the beds were awesome. VERY nice bedding. Smooth soft sheets, fluffy blanket and nice comforter over a good quality (no sagging) mattress. Fluffy towels but the amount and quality of the soaps, etc. could have been better. Ditto for the coffee set-up. The pool was nice and the spa/hot tub was wonderful. Nice quiet location with adequate parking and excellent access to CA 1 without the traffic noise. Overall a good experience.

Plain but great for price (off season)

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Comfort, price, location
Cons: If you are on a strict budget, know that they do put your card through if you arrive later in evening.
Location: Fantastic beach where you can walk for miles!
Very reasonable price right across from beach. Big room, huge comfy bed. Save and then eat at the great restaurant a few doors to the north.

Nice old fashioned type hotel

Posted Oct 5, 2014
Pros: The decor and atmosphere
Cons: The lady at reception was not helpful or welcoming at all
Location: No where near anything but has small restaurant and basic little shop
Pleased about the facilities considering the hotel is so isolated but expected staff to be more welcoming

Nice hotel

Posted Sep 17, 2014
The hotel room we stayed at had three beds, 2 queens and 1 king. (family room) It had a nice pool, close to eating areas, and SUPER CLOSE to the BEACH, which i love. Stayed for a night and would come back if we ever go back to visit Hearst castle.

close to the beach

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Cons: must upgrade especially bathroom, beds and carpets.
The bathroom was outdated, the shower heads needs to be clean with lime away. Beds were very uncomfortable. Noise level was loud, conversation outside or any noise can be heard in your room. Not a place to relax at all:(

Thank you for your recent stay. Our hotel prides itself on providing clean and affordable accommodations. Our beds as well as our linen and bathrooms have recently been updated. I'm sorry to hear that your stay was interrupted by guests that were making their way to their rooms in the parking lot. We do have a problem with our water supply in San Simeon due to the drought that could cause some inconvenience with the shower heads. We hope you consider staying with us in the future.

Okay hotel close to Hearst Castle

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Location: We spent the day shopping in Cambria which is very close.
This hotel was just okay, nothing special. We stayed one night so we could go to Hearst Castle the next day. Very convenient location for Hearst Castle. Room was relatively clean but it smelled like disinfectant when we first walked in. Water pressure was awful. Just an okay place to stay overnight, nothing special.

Never again

Posted Aug 15, 2014
The cleaning staff does not know how to clean or make beds. The room itself was disgusting. Water stains all over the carpet, tub leaks which explains the water stains. The bed sheets had holes in them. On top of that the lobby staff was so rude!

Thank you for your recent stay. We take pride in providing the best quality of linen and towels to our guests on a daily basis. Our sheets and towels are inspected before they are laid out in the room. And they are purchased for highly rated vendors. In regards to the water stains on the carpet, if you provide me with your room number I would be happy to investigate it.

Good for visit to Hearst Castle

This motel is good for a night's stay and very close to Hearst Castle. It is on Route 1 and overlooks the ocean. It is next door to a decent restaurant, which also serves American breakfast. The room was large, clean and comfortable.
