Nice hotel

Posted Sep 17, 2014
The hotel room we stayed at had three beds, 2 queens and 1 king. (family room) It had a nice pool, close to eating areas, and SUPER CLOSE to the BEACH, which i love. Stayed for a night and would come back if we ever go back to visit Hearst castle.

close to the beach

Cons: must upgrade especially bathroom, beds and carpets.
The bathroom was outdated, the shower heads needs to be clean with lime away. Beds were very uncomfortable. Noise level was loud, conversation outside or any noise can be heard in your room. Not a place to relax at all:(

Thank you for your recent stay. Our hotel prides itself on providing clean and affordable accommodations. Our beds as well as our linen and bathrooms have recently been updated. I'm sorry to hear that your stay was interrupted by guests that were making their way to their rooms in the parking lot. We do have a problem with our water supply in San Simeon due to the drought that could cause some inconvenience with the shower heads. We hope you consider staying with us in the future.

Okay hotel close to Hearst Castle

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Location: We spent the day shopping in Cambria which is very close.
This hotel was just okay, nothing special. We stayed one night so we could go to Hearst Castle the next day. Very convenient location for Hearst Castle. Room was relatively clean but it smelled like disinfectant when we first walked in. Water pressure was awful. Just an okay place to stay overnight, nothing special.

Never again

Posted Aug 15, 2014
The cleaning staff does not know how to clean or make beds. The room itself was disgusting. Water stains all over the carpet, tub leaks which explains the water stains. The bed sheets had holes in them. On top of that the lobby staff was so rude!

Thank you for your recent stay. We take pride in providing the best quality of linen and towels to our guests on a daily basis. Our sheets and towels are inspected before they are laid out in the room. And they are purchased for highly rated vendors. In regards to the water stains on the carpet, if you provide me with your room number I would be happy to investigate it.

Thank you for your recent stay. I am sorry about the inconvenience. We did have a recent issue with the pool in which a part for the pool filter was not working. We did make all of our guest aware of the issue prior to their check-in. We have quickly resolved this issue and both pool and spa are in working order. We hope you will reconsider staying with us again.

Decent Hotel close to the beach

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: Price.
Cons: The hotel needs an upgrade. It seems to be on a precipice. If some money is not put into this place it will continue to decay.
Location: Hearst Castle, The Beach, elephant seals, ocean tours, Cambria,
I am torn about my stay. The price was good. The staff was good. We stayed in four different rooms over our week there so i got to see a few different rooms with different amenities. The room... well the hotel is older and it shows, the air conditioner did not work in our room but did in others. Our room did not have a microwave and fridge but others did. The staff was, for the most part good. The indoor pool and spa as well as the indoor patio were nice. If you are going to this hotel just to crash after a day at the beach and don't want to spend lots of money. Stay here. If you enjoy a hotel as part of your vacation and like all of the extras maybe not. Maybe you will get one of the good rooms maybe not.

Good Loacation

Pros: #1 the location #2 the indoor pool-Beign indooors was a huge plus given how temperatures can drop in the evening when you are near the coast.
Cons: The carpet was pretty worn and the bathroom fan is really, really loud. Don't think that much attention was given to cleaning under the beds.
Location: The motel is centrally located between Hearst Castle and the town of Cambria. It was ideal for us. The convenenience of the nearby restaurant.(about a
We very much enjoyed our stay. The place is modest but clean and comfortable. We were traveling with two children age 8 & 11 and they loved the indoor pool! As did we. We could sit comfortably indoors as they swam. Coastal evenings can be quite cool. I do wish that there had been a few TV options aimed towards kids. There was nothing at all available for them. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
