Average Price for an Average Stay!

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: The price was very reasonable.
Cons: The manager could do a much better job on the breakfast. Holiday Inn Express and The Best Western put on a much better breakfast.
Location: The Hearst Castle and the Elephant Seals are a must see!
Everything was satisfactory except the breakfast. There could have been more to offer. It was basically cereal, toast, and an apple if you wanted it. The coffee was good but the juice was terrible.

Disappointing

Posted Jan 20, 2015
Pros: location and proximity to Hearst castle
Cons: cleanliness, outdated rooms, disgusting pillows, awful and probably old breakfast food offered
Location: Hearst Castle and San Simeon
Value of hotel not worth price paid. Hotel room was outdated and only surface clean. Bed looked like it had pubic hair and bedding looked as if it had not been changed in a very long time.

Balcony View

Posted Dec 22, 2014
Pros: Having the no charge for fridge/micro. Balcony view, working heater (winter trip). Vending machines and Ice close by. Maid staff excellent
Cons: Some towels are older than others and may need to be replaced.
Location: Hearst Castle, The Rook (elephant seals), The Rock (ospry, falcons, otters, seals) Cambria antiques and food. Cayoucus (Brown butter cookies!) Closeby
Smaller hotel with easily manageable stairs. Hotel is older but LARGE rooms. We had a micro, fridge, tub, two large beds and two chairs on balcony to watch the sun sets. Breakfast is served till 10:00 (hot oatmeal, toast, two cold cereals, yogurt, apple and orange juice, milk). plenty of parking, but restaurant in parking lot was closed at the time we went. Recommended to others already.

Great area

Posted Dec 7, 2014
Pros: Location, breakfast.
Stayed here because of price, reviews, and proximity to Hearst Castle. Found way more in the area than expected and the hotel was a pleasant surprise.

Perfect hotel to stay at for a night while passing

The room was nice and clean the beds were hard but not bad for the price. Good hotel to stay in while not breaking the bank and passing through town.

nice hotel

Posted Nov 26, 2014
Hotel was updated a few years ago. Room is big, bed comfortable. has fridge and microwave. Pretty quiet on the second floor. Had balcony facing back part of motel. WiFi worked with good conneciton. Breakfast was oatmeal, dry cereal, apples. Would stay again at the very low price we were able to get.

Close to Hearst Castle, that's all.

Pleasant check-in, but room was ultra basic. Gnats were everywhere and room was very loud. You could hear every footstep from upstairs rooms. Breakfast was poorly conceived. Coffee was weak, oatmeal was uncooked and cold. Other offerings were very limited.
