“A Great Weekend Escapade”
We loved this hotel! The location and ambiance were superb. The continental breakfast the next morning is very nice too. They have a great spa area--amazing steamroom and very nice jacuzzi in an outdoor patio area. The bathrobes are very comfy too. Huge shower in the room and ample bathtub. Our downstairs room view looked out onto a jungly marshland-like area--very private and relaxing. The hotel is located at the end of the boardwalk that spans the length of the beach/cove so is very convenient to take this walk from the hotel without having to drive. My only complaint was the somewhat stuffy odor in the room and the mattress was quite hard. Other than that, the trip was perfect.
“Modern Elegance”
I love getting away to Cambria but my husband doesn't enjoy the frilly victorian style decor at many of the hotels. Hotel Colibri offers the opposite...clean modern Spanish style with tile, leather sofas and a super comfy bed. The Moonstone trail starts just outside of the hotel. We loved staying here!
“"We'll be back"”
Wonderful new hotel. A few minor glitches as one might expect from a hotel only 2 mos. old. Clean, comfortable, spacious, rooms. Our room did not have a view, but you're only a couple of minutes away from some really awe inspiring ones. This hotel is close to beach, restaurants, shops, etc. Easy highway access for trips to Hearst Castle or to see the elephant seals (highly recommended), or the lighthouse. We are frequent Cambria visitors and won't hestitate to stay at this hotel again.
“Cambria's Best Hotel - Calm, Modern and Relaxing!”
I spent a lot of time researching hotel options for a weekend getaway in Cambria a/o Paso Robles, CA. We really wanted to stay within a modest budget...at first those search results brought up dingy motels with horrible reviews. Then, I finally found out about El Colibri. It was fantastic! The room was fresh and modern in style. We got the Jacuzzi King room. Lovely tub and great shower stall big enough for 4 people!!! (ha ha) The hotel is walking distance from the boardwalk on Moonstone Beach. It was lovely to just go for a walk in the morning. It's also just across the way from the start of the Main Street (shopping district). They had live music on Friday & Saturday night and wine tastings. We will DEFINITELY GO BACK!!!!!
“Extremely convenient if visiting the Hearst Castle and Cambria”
Very nice, clean hotel. Conveniently located close to town with immediate access to a wonderful boardwalk that takes one along the ocean for a long walk or jog. Accessible underground parking. No views to speak of as the hotel is pretty much positioned between some "clump" vegetation out back and an access road, but it is still quiet, and the building, itself, architecturally, is better than it looks in the picture. Wonderful stay, and the people that run it are extremely professional, helpful, and friendly. Rooms were spacious, well decorated, and thoughtful. I would, highly, recommend this hotel, and we stay in lots and are spoiled people.
“love it!”
We stay along the Central Coast quite a bit and noticed this hotel the last time we were there. We decided to give it a try this time and were not disappointed. The room was beautiful. Everyone we talked to was helpful and friendly. There isn't an ocean view, but Moonstone beach was within easy walking distance. I'm looking forward to using the spa services on our next visit!
“I love this hotel!”
I loved this hotel! The only thing that could make it more perfect is if it were on the beach. We stayed in the Executive King room and I loved it!!! It is romantic, comfortable and walking distance to the beach, shopping and restraunts! I will definetely stay here again! It still smelled new and the bathroom was terrific. I wish I could take the bathroom home with me. The fireplace by the bed was wonderful! And if you go, you MUST eat at Linns! I wish we would have found it the first day!
“Very relaxing, wish we could have stayed more than one night”
We booked this hotel because it was just a short drive to the Hearst Castle. We wer e very impressed with the atmosphere of the hotel. The beach was only a few minutes away. The jacuzzi at the spa was very relaxing.
“A gem by the beach”
This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. It is a short walk from the beach, a short drive from Hearst Castle and was about half way for us as we were driving from LA to San Francisco. All the rooms were uniquely and tastefully decorated, clean and beautiful. The spa services were great and the facilities very comfortable and luxurious. We cannot wait to go back. Quite an amazing experience from fireplaces to bed linens. Thanks!
“Loved this hotel”
We thought this hotel was wonderful. New, beatifully appointed. Everything about the hotel was lovely. Great continental breakfast in the morning. After a long drive down Highway 1 it was a relaxing way to unwind.
