Nice hotel close to the beach

Very quaint little place. Was clean and cute and right across from the beautiful beach. Walking distance to a couple great restaurants. We paid a high rate and have stayed in nicer places for less, but we would stay there again since it was one of the few pet friendly options in the area.

Charming, Convenient, and Cooperative

Cons: The cell phone reception and wireless were both spotty and irritating. Neither worked adequately for computer or phone.
Our two-day stay was delightful. Rooms were directly across the street from the beach, nothing blocking the wide expanse of sky and sea. We sat on beach sand or on rocks to watch surfers ride the high waves due to a hurricane in Mexico, walked the wooden footpath for blocks along the coastline, and loved the sound of the ocean all night through our open windows. The staff was friendly and suggested several fine places to eat. Cambria is a village, all tourist shops and restaurants, and all three of our dinners were excellent. The room was traditional decor, bed was cozy and downy, shower head was vigorous, parking was right outside our door. We drove about six miles up the coast to tour San Simeon, the reason for our excursion to this area. The Hearst Castle was romantic, elegant, imaginative, and artistic in architecture and location. We've recommend this Inn already to friends and family as a true getaway.

close to the beach yes, but nice hotel no, outdate

Pros: not much
Cons: renovation
Location: nothing to do close by, it was mistakenly booked. Not what we wanted .
good in away, bad in another. Me and my family had great time @ Fog Catcher hotel, service was good. My main concern was, about the water sprinklers, the hotel staff didn't warn us about that. I parked my brand new car in front of my room #804, the following day the front area and windshield were covered with water spots, which hard to remove them by wiping them off. I had to take my car this morning to the carwash to clay wax it. I ended up paying $135.00 to remove all water spots. I spoke with one of your employees at the breakfast area, she said she will take that claim to the hotel manager.

Fog Catcher

Posted Jul 31, 2014
Pros: Location ( except for restaurant variety available in walking range)
Cons: Glass drinking cups would be nice considering price for the spray.
Location: Hearst Castle is phenomenal as are the nature walks.
Brief, but wonderful stay. Perfect location. A bit dense and, consequently, a little noisy.

Nice, cozy hotel by the ocean

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: The room was cozy and comfortable. The free breakfast buffet was good.
Location: You can walk right over to Moonstone Beach or to a couple restaurants nearby. Or it's a short drive to main street and the little, quaint part of town
Cambria is beautiful and most of the hotels are all on the same street across from the ocean. This appeared to be one of the nicer if not nicest of the strip of hotels.

Great mini vacation on the central coast!

Posted Jul 25, 2014
Pros: Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They were always willing to help us with directions or anything we needed.
Cons: Upgrade showers.
Location: Hearst castle is a nice place to visit. Nice drive up the coast to visit the elephant seals and the lighthouse.
Great location. Just cross the street to the beach with a nice walking path and great sunsets. We had a nice room with a view of the ocean. Overall, the condition of the room was great. Just not use to the low-flow showers. Nice selection for the breakfast buffet. Moonstone Beach bar & grill was just a short walk from the hotel. Clam chowder was delicious. Hearst castle is just a 15 minute drive from the hotel. Would definitely come back again.
