Facilities have been recently remodeled and have splendid ambiance. Great location on the ocean and across Moonstone Drive and the walkway and beach. The sound of the surf is very soothing. Great full breakfast included.

lovely location, easily accessible.Posted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: Location and quiet
Cons: Needs a few more room amenities: wine opener, some utensils for kitchenette
Location: stroll shops, wine tasting, Hearst Castle, hikes
Went on a "girl trip," to do some wine tasting . My friend's first time EVER, beyond the Santa Barbarbra beaches, and she was equally impressed.

Pros: Large room with high ceiling, easy walk to Moonstone Beach, very good breakfast.
Location: Cambria offers the beauty of the Central a Coast with great restaurants, hiking along the beach, and cool climate. A beautiful, peaceful spot.

Cute hotel right across the street from the beach.Posted Apr 12, 2015
Loved the feel of the hotel. Mellow yellow walls with ivy growing on them. Reminded me of the English countryside. Super friendly check in with yummy cookies. Loved the fireplace all night. Comfy bed and pillows. Very clean inside room. Loved the body wash and the lotion. Breakfast was busy but had plenty of seating inside and out. I didn't see any hot eggs or bacon. They had cereal, muffins, toast, bagels, hard boiled eggs sliced which made it easier to salt and eat. They offered coffee, 3 types of juice, oat meal and two waffle makers. Always a line but yummy. I really enjoyed walking across the street to walk along the boardwalk along the edge of the beach. Saw a great sunset! I will stay here again on my next trip to Cambria.

Quaint exterior - spartan interiorPosted Apr 3, 2015
Pros: Location across from ocean. Quaint exterior design.
Cons: see above
Location: Love the location near Cambria, and highway 1.
Surprised by the lack of interior design. Parking was crowded. Had to park across the street. Lovely setting and exterior design. Overcrowded breakfast room.

Pros: Clean and convenient to beach.
Location: Moonstone Beach Hearst Castle Elephant Seals
Wonderfully updated. Nice fireplace in room. Essential microwave, coffee and mini fridge in room. Walk across road to boardwalk and then down to beautiful Moonstone beach. Staff super friendly and helpful for suggesting restaurants. Super clean. Comfortable bedding. Quiet! Basic, but good selection for breakfast.

A convenient destinationPosted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: It was easy to find and check-in was prompt.
Location: We were able to see some of Cambria shops. Also Hearst Castle is not far as well as the Elephant Seal beach.
My sister, visiting from a very chilly Pittsburgh, Pa., decided to go to Hearst Castle kind of last minute. We had no trouble booking a room at the Fog Catcher and it was easy to find. We enjoyed the close access to the beach and to other area sights.

Cozy Inn, Beautiful LocationPosted Mar 18, 2015
Pros: Location, cozy ambiance, view and included breakfast buffet.
Location: Ocean view, beach activities, Hearst Castle.
We really enjoyed our stay. For a small inn, our room had a high vaulted ceiling and the fireplace was a nice touch. It was nicely remodeled and comfortable. The grounds were pretty and well-maintained. Although we didn't use the heated pool or spa, they looked nice and several folks seemed to be enjoying them. We did like the outdoor fire pit. The breakfast was very good. Parking was very limited, so an early arrival is recommended or you will need to find a spot along the boardwalk off the street, and I'm not sure how secure that would be. Additional remodeling is underway, so there are currently some storage containers and equipment around the facility, but that just shows progress to me. The best part was the incredible location with stunning views of the ocean and a boardwalk just steps away. We took a lovely walk up and down the gorgeous coastline at sunset. You can see Hearst Castle in the distance if you look closely. We were hoping to eat dinner around 8:00, but the town of Cambria shuts down EARLY. The only place still open was the Main Street Grille and it was horrible.
