Great spot across from a great beachPosted Jan 30, 2015
Pros: Location was great - right on the beach and less than a 5 minute drive to downtown Cambria. Hotel was full but we hardly heard other guests.
Location: Get coffee and snacks at Linn's in Cambria, and - of course - Hearst Castle is amazing.
Located right across the street from a marvelous beach, this place is kept up nicely and the staff is very helpful. Breakfast buffet is fine. Had a couple of minor problems with the room - but nothing too bad. The first door key we got didn't work, but the second one worked fine. The sink stopper was stuck down, and when I pulled on it, it came totally out. Did it matter? Not at all. Bed was comfortable, variety of pillows to choose from, thermostatically controlled fireplace, and you can open the windows to hear the waves breaking.

Next to boardwalk on beachPosted Jan 19, 2015
Clean modern room. Nice to be able to get up and walk on boardwalk next to beach. Continental breakfast -- awful, cheap, highly processed food. I thought that maybe in California the food would be more interesting and health conscious. Instead Arnold bread and hard boiled eggs out of a plastic bag.

Great hotel--it felt like home!Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: It was unique and obviously much-loved by owners and property managers. It was spic and span!
Cons: The door lock system was antiquated. Breakfast area didn't open as posted.
Location: Fun 'downtown'. No fast food places or big box stores! The endless beach! Hearst Castle!
There was a beach view from our room! Excellent location--close to restaurants both directions. 'Downtown' was a short drive and offered lots of things to do. Room was updated and oh-so-clean! Continental breakfast was more than adequate! We will be back!

A great stop along the highwayPosted Dec 31, 2014
We stopped here on the way to Vegas from San Francisco. It is a great spot across the road from the ocean. You could hear the waves crashing and going down to the beach in the morning was great. The staff was very helpful with advice on where to eat in town.

Perfect!Posted Nov 25, 2014
Pros: comfortable bed, clean room, big bathroom and great view.
Cons: we wanted snacks late at night and they don't have a vending machine or anything on site.
Location: you are right across the street from moonstone beach, a 10 minute drive from fiscalini ranch, and about a 3 minute drive from the town.
this hotel is so charming and perfect. my boyfriend and i booked a room with an ocean view. it was so nice to hear the ocean while we were sleeping. the bed was comfortable. i love the gas fireplace heater. the room was very spacious and clean. the bathroom is really big which i love. the water pressure is pretty weak but i understand it's because of the drought so they get a pass on that one. they have a continental breakfast with a good variety of breakfast items and they are close to a couple restaurants on moonstone beach. i really enjoyed the beach right across the street and having that beautiful stroll along the wood pathway. we will definitely be back again.
