Great hotel clos e to the beach.Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: The room and breakfast was great.
Cons: Room 107 NEEDS Venetian blinds
Location: Visit heurst castle a must and the elephant seals
Our stay was spoilt by our room at ground floor level next to car park only having full blackout blinds . Therefore we were unable to have any daylight in the room as we were constantly on show to other guests . Very disappointing . The room no was 107.

Just across the road from the beachPosted Jul 15, 2014
Cons: Very impersonal breakfast - do it all yourself and not much selection. And be warned 10am means 10am, this is when all food is cleared away!
Location: Beach walks, wildlife
Quiet, pleasant, just across the road from the beach. A relaxing location. Strange breakfast.

Stop off on coast roadPosted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Position, friendliness of staff and room comfort.
Cons: A bigger selection at breakfast would improve the experience.
Location: Location is stunning with great sea views. Just up the coast is a place where elephant seals gather in the afternoon sun - just like in a documentary
6 of us stopped here for one night (3 rooms) on our way down the coast road from San Francisco and were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were all on the first floor with sea views and were of a decent size with balconies and good sized bathrooms. The sea view rooms are well worth the extra supplement. We arrived late and the hotel receptionist recommended several restaurants in town. We were glad we took her advice having a wonderful meal at Robins Restaurant with decent wine at a reasonable price. She was on the desk again early the next morning and was helping with breakfast - she had a great welcoming attitude and is clearly a key member of the staff. The surprising thing about the hotel is that the corridors to the bedrooms are all open to the outside at the ends but the weather is apparently always temperate so that didn't pose any problems. In the morning there was a har (morning fog) which was a wonderful sight despite limiting the extent of view over the sea.

Pros: The view
Location: 10 yards from the beach 1 restaurant next door and another 100 yards away
This hotel was very expensive but the view makes up for that.

Fantastic little hotelPosted Jun 24, 2014
This hotel was fantastic. Cambria is a very small sea fronted villiage with only a couple of hotels and resturants. The hotel was very pretty and had fantastic views over the ocean. The room was spotlessly clean. Bed was comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family.

Moonstone OvernighterPosted Jun 13, 2014
We visited Moonstone Landing as an overnight stopover on our road trip from San Fran to LA. The friendly staff, and the clean and spacious rooms made it a pleasure to stay here. I highly recommend staying at the Moonstone Landing as we experienced that you would pay well over $200/night for a room of this quality anywhere else.

Pleasant coastal motelPosted May 30, 2014
Very nice motel but immediate area short of facilities. Only two restaurants within walking distance although town has many superb places. Would happily stay again if in the area.

Moonstone StayPosted May 22, 2014
Pros: It was close to the beach, a beautiful area. It had plenty of room and very clean. The beds were very comfortable.
Cons: I think air conditioning for visitors from the South.
Location: Hearst Castle was near, Sea Lion nesting area. Had a small old town area. Could just sit on a bench and watch the waves and the sunsets.
Moonstone Landing was a perfect place for us to stay. Across the street from the beach. We could cross the street for easy access to the beach. A beautiful area.
