Good ocean view and beach nearby.Posted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: Picturesque view from the second floor, and a comfortable renovated room with a fridge.
Cons: Exterior needs a bit of a facelift, and the breakfast area was crammed in a small space, with a limited variety of food,
Location: Great location for visiting Hearst Castle, the elephant seal rookery, Cambria, and the beach, of course.
Overall, we were satisfied with the room accommodation. The bathroom was a bit small, but the room was spacious. Would have liked to had a second luggage rack or bench. The exterior is quite plain and old style but the room had been renovated and updated with new furniture.

Stay ElsewherePosted Mar 23, 2014
Cons: New manager/owner would be a start. Tearing it down would be better.
The room we were given had garbage and dirty towels on the floor and table. No bedding on one of the beds. We choose to forfeit a 2 night deposit and stay elsewhere. Manager was indifferent. Don't know about room comfort since we didn't stay there!

Horrible over rated hotelPosted Feb 17, 2014
You can hear your neighbors, the carpets are dirty, it is a Motel 6 level, super overpriced

Excellent choice - no frills, just cleanPosted Feb 4, 2014
This is the second time I've stayed at this excellent, clean hotel with no frills. Conveniently located for Hearst Castle touring or coastal exploring, this hotel is a great value and right on the beach! My two stays have been pretty straightforward and very smooth. The rooms are in great condition and spacious. Try the yummy tiny waffles in the morning - breakfast is free :) I'm looking forward to my next stay.
Avoid this hotel if you need to sleepPosted Jan 28, 2014
We checked in after a long drive, and received a room on the lower level. We tried to rest and unfortunately the person in the room above was noisy and continued to walk around the room and this was after 10 pm. I complained twice to the front desk and the noise stopped then started again. In the morning I asked the front desk why they hadn't corrected the noise situation the person said that he could do nothing as the guests say that they have paid and the hotel could not do anything. In the future I recommend that if anyone has this situation do not expect any solution from the hotel if you need a restful night's sleep

Basic accommodations near Hearst CastlePosted Jan 24, 2014
Cons: Hotel should try to do away with styrofoam plates, etc. Paper would be a better choice.
Location: Hearst Castle, elephant seals, Pacific Ocean are all very close. Sebastian's Store was a great place to grab some lunch after visiting the castle
Stayed there 2 nights. It served as a great place from which we could visit Hearst Castle, Elephant Seals, and Cambria. Continental breakfast was OK, but room was quite comfortable with view of ocean and the rumble of the surf in the background.

Nice Hotel close to the beach!Posted Jan 23, 2014
Pros: The location was great!
Cons: Good Hotel for such a good price!
Location: We went to Hearst Castle and stopped by the beach to see the Elephant Seals. We ate at the cute little Mexican restaurant nearby.
We stayed one night at the Sea Breeze Hotel. We had a late arrival. Everything was in order when we arrived. The room was bigger than I thought and comfortable. The location was great. I slept in so I missed the breakfast but that was ok because there were other breakfast places nearby. Overall I would love to come back and stay a few days. Nice place, great location and very resonably priced.

We weren't expecting much when we booked online, but were really pleasantly surprised when we saw the room. Clean, comfortable and the staff were lovely.

Great remote location by the OceanPosted Dec 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was a very relaxing stay by the remote San Simeon beach. We had a ocean view room and could watch and hear the ocean all along. Except for a couple of townhouses, it's going to be just you and the ocean. The front desk was very helpful with a reservation date issue we had.

Friendly helpful staff. An excellent location for visiting Hearsts Castle. Discounts at local restaurants were useful. Could hear the sound of the sea at night. Nice clean modern rooms. Thankyou.
