Lovely quaint hideaway on Moonstone Beach

Posted May 20, 2015
Pros: clean, homey feel of the hotel--we would stay here again
Cons: We found staff polite, but not particularly friendly.
Location: Hearst castle, Moonstone Beach walk, Elephant Seal beach
We had a very pleasant experience at this old style motel located on Moonstone Beach near the Hearst Castle. It was updated and very clean with a mini fridge and microwave in the room. The deluxe continental breakfast included lovely fresh pastries, toast, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee and fruit. It has to be picked up at the motel office every morning. There is also a basic outdoor pool and spa, which were clean and seemed adequately maintained. A pretty garden divides the rooms from the parking lot. We enjoyed our stay here.

Pros: Room we stood in had a nice little patio .
Very nice place to stay at . Close to the ocean you can hear the surf all night . Been going to the Cambria area over 15 yrs . Stood here twice and both times had a great time .

Cosy and comfy with attention to details

Posted May 12, 2015
A lovely motel with an unexpected attention to details. Breakfast was lovely. Garden Is well kept. Bed was comfy. Opposite the beach. Shame it was too cold for the pool or the hot tub.

Looks can be deceiving!

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: The hotel's location.
Cons: The hotel's plumbing, put screens on the windows so that you can enjoy the cool ocean breeze.
The hotel is right across the street from the beach & looks very quaint. My problem with this hotel is that the toilet continued to plug up everyday. The plunger next to the toilet should have been my 1st clue! At that point I was told that there was no maintenance on site! Had to wait for plumber to come from neighboring hotel!!

Cute hotel, close to beach.

Posted May 8, 2015
Pros: Location, furnishings, private patio, gardens, everything but the faulty fireplace.
Cons: Breakfast is in the office which is a very small space
Location: Downtown Cambria, Hearst castle, elephant seals
Nice room, very cute private patio. The fireplace, which is your heat source, had a problem with the electronic ignition (it clicked for about 45 seconds before igniting, which is very annoying all night long), was very loud, had only half a flame and smelled like gas, that was not pleasant. When I asked about it at the front desk, I was told that is completely normal and it is electric so not to worry.

Nice hotel, love it's cleanliness

Posted May 2, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness, location.
Cons: Paint the walls a different color. Even plain cream would be better as the current one seemed eerily depressing, even scary.
Location: Oceanfront and Hearst Castle nearby.
Bed was very comfortable, but I think the walls of the room could be perked up a bit. Gave a melancholy effect. Impressed w/ the cleanliness of the bathroom.
