“Clean room.”

The room was nice, and it was clean.Shower head was fantastic, nice water pressure. Sure wish hotels had better mattresses, but this room had one of the better mattresses we've slept on. We prefer the one bed option, when staying in a hotel.

Area recommendations
This hotel is very convenient to most areas of Lake Erie. We often visit this area, but have stayed mostly around Port Clinton. We find the Sandusky area to be a nice place to stay, as it is centralized to areas well worth exploring. Love the Battery Park.

“Couldn,t believe how bad it was!”

When we arrived at the hotel it was late...about 10:30pm. After checking in, we went to our room and found that one bed had no pillows and neither bed had been changed from the previous guests! Literally! The bed linens had not been changed and he beds looked like someone had just gotten out of them! I went to the desk to report the conditions to which the hotel desk lady replied, "That's weird." and disappeared. While I waited, another guest came to the desk and said their pillow was blood stained and the sheets were covered with stains, as well! The clerk came back, handed me two pillows, and that was that! Unbelievable! Really... Forget amenities... you won't even get clean sheets at this hotel!

“Listen up Ladies!!”

Do NOT let your husband's talk you into this hotel! I realize it's cheap and most vacationers will only spend a few hours in the room sleeping....trust me, you don't wanna sleep here! It is filthy, stinky and has bugs. The room is totally unsanitary. The hotel clerk said they did not own a vaccum and it's so obvious. I don't know what kind of bug we killed, it had lots of legs. The first night they gave away our reserved room, even though we called and said we were coming into town late, they said okay and gave away the room anyway. I will NEVER stay here again, i would rather camp in a tent that i know is clean and use my own blankets and sheets (and i don't even camp), this place is gross and scary. I'm no diva, but cleanliness is a must.

Area recommendations
This was a good area and close to cedar point.

“Will return for the right price..”

Well, I thought the room was fairly alright, the beds were comfortable but a bit too small for me and my boyfriend. TV was great though, had lots of good channels especially shows for my children. It was good for the price we paid that was a special and had to be booked within seven days advance. We would go back!

“Got Robbed”

My 16 year old son left his $300 IPod in the room while we went to Kalihari Water Park. He hid it under some clothes. When we got back that evening it was gone. By that night the thief was using it to harass contacts in his Instant Messaging Ap. The couch in the room was badly stained. The pillows and mattresses were awful. The place is a complete dump.

“Not what I was expecting”

Probally will not stay here again. Wanted a low budget hotel, not a slummy cheap motel feel. I felt I wanted to call the remodelers to come and finish the patch work they did in both the bathroom and bedroom. Very much an eye sore. Spiders were everywhere, and it just felt like the staff was inconvienced with our stay. Not a very friendly group, but if you don't mind the motel feel, stay here. I won't.

Must see
Go to Put-in-Bay.

“Old, outdated but basically clean”

For the price, this is a fair motel. It is very old/ outdated and in great need of remodeling. The pool is old concrete style and was to dirty to swim in at our visit. The staff was friendly and accomadating. There are no "extras" with this motel, what you see is what you get. But, for the money, its not bad. We spent very little time in at the motel, so it worked out well for our 4 day visit. Very close proximity to Cedar Point and the downtown Sandusky Waterfront. The neighborhood is good, with alot of shopping/ eating possibilities. I would not avoid this place, but have an open mind when you check in. If you a germaphob, DO NOT go here, you wont like it.

“An ominnious feeling...seriously”

I give any hotel a chance and with the rate price I did. Not only did the lobby smell like sitting water, as well as flickering lights in the stairway, but the lock on the room door did not work, there were not one but TWO burnt iron marks on the carpet, the room wasn't vacuumed, it smelled like mold and the best part of the whole experience was pulling the sheets off the mattress and seeing blood and signs of bed bugs. Needless to say we went down the road to a very nice hotel.

Area recommendations
I had no idea where we would be landing (We were in town for an old friend's wedding). But Cedar Point is within driving distance and there is quite a bit of commercial around the area. (ie. Walmart, mall, move theatre, Sonic, Target etc) Try Mrs. D's Seafood right across the street from Cracker Barrel! Great seafood!
Getting there
We hate using the GPS so we used Google Maps. I would recommend just staying on I-80 until you see an exit for Sandusky.
Shopping
Lots and Lots of shopping in the area. There's mall which includes a Macy's, Best Buy, Target, and other dept. stores. There's also a Walmart, and Meijer.
Dining
Try Mrs. D's Seafood, may not look like somewhere you would go, but it was great seafood. Bob Evan's is always a great place for breakfast. If you're looking for a decent bar there's one in the American Gateway (its right by the highway ramps) with a bar called The Roadhouse.

“would never go back”

room smelled bad, holes in the couch, no iron or ironing board but we where told it would be, breakfast was hard mini danish and orange juice that taste like grapefruit jucie, no milk yet we were told that they had a list of breakfast items. we've paid alot less for much better rooms in the past. i would say the most we should have paid for that room is 35 a night. clearly 1/2 out of 5 stars. i feel they jacked up the price because it was a holiday weekend. walls was paper thin so you could hear everything around you. never again!
