Beautiful setting right by the river, next door to a restaurant and a beautiful marina next door. Nice breakfast too.

Fantastic Staff

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Pros: Staff & Breakfast
Cons: Pool was a bit small, but that is ok.
Location: Twine House is a good place to eat and your kids will love the Pied Piper for an ice cream cone (so will mom & dad).
Stayed while in town to take the kids to Cedar Point and African Safari. Every member of the staff was FANTASTIC and so welcoming. Ronee at the front desk was the nicest and the lady who works the breakfast area keeps the area flowing like magic. Good Breakfast (best at any Clarion I have stayed) and the kids loved the chocolate chips for their waffles while I loved the fresh fruit that was truly fresh!

on the river

Posted Jul 16, 2015
Pros: Front desk lady, although fairly new was friendly and had some useful information about the area
Cons: Just needs a bit of freshening up
Location: Great little restaurant right next door on the river, burgers(excellent) and I think 59 types of wings
Hotel is a little tired, but we had a clean room, comfortable bed, fun restaurant next door (Brass Pelican) and at the end of a long, wet driving day - it met our needs.

Close to the beach

Posted Jul 12, 2015
Pros: Nice location
Cons: as above
Location: Cedar Point--short drive, Nickel Plate Beach
The breakfast was horrible. Eggs were like sandpaper. Crowded, no coffee, no forks. Not enough staff to keep up. Overall the hotel staff were very pleasant. Returned to hotel late one night and my assigned room keys suddenly would not work---the desk clerk gave me new ones. Elevator worked consistently if you held the button panel in while riding. Kids said the indoor pool was freezing, two towels available.

Good hotel

Posted Jul 1, 2015
My wife and I stayed here for our 1 year anniversary and it was a good hotel for the price! Nice rooms! Just know that mayflies are present outdoors. Staff does good job of keeping them out.

Nice staff and area

Posted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: Area and staff
Location: I visited the area to go to Cedar Point and the hotel was within 15 minutes of the park, veyr convenient. Quite a few shops and a mall nearby.
The hotel staff was accommodating and helpful. The hotel was located in a nice area, and I felt safe.

Great location

Posted Jun 1, 2015
We recently stayed at Comfort Inn River's Edge over the weekend. The hotel was located in a quiet, well kept neighborhood right on the river in Huron. The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. Check in and check out were easy, and there are good restaurants close by. The only con was that people on our floor were extremely loud and inconsiderate. I don't hold this against the hotel because even the best hotels can have inconsiderate guests. Overall, it was a nice stay for a reasonable price.

Noisy

Posted Oct 7, 2014 on Hotels
The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable but wish we could have had queen size. The staff was very nice. The hotel was just so noisy. We were kept awake most of the night by loud people coming in, in the middle of the night. Whoever was above us did a lot of walking back and forth at all hours. We were next to the stairway which slammed every time someone went through and our door kept getting mistaken for the stairway as people tried to open it. The front desk told us to ask for a room away from the stairway and elevators if we came back and they would accommodate that which was nice. I would also ask for a room on the top floor to avoid the walking noise. We also didn't eat breakfast there but looked and it was so so looking.

Great hotel location for charter boats rides

Posted Oct 1, 2014
Pros: Close to Marina
Cons: Breakfast and beds
Location: Kind of an isolated area. You have to travel down the road for fast food.
The hotel was clean. The bed was not very comfortable. We were on the first floor by the front desk and even though they were not busy I could still hear the employees talking by the front desk. The breakfast did not offer much . The desk clerk asked for my license to get my address, I told him the address was not current he out it down anyway. I asked him to use my correct address instead of an old one and he told me I could have the night auditor update the info. He seemed lazy, why would they want an old address ? I will not get any mail that is sent there. He should have just done it right when I asked.
