May 2012 - Visit Cape Cod AreasPosted May 26, 2012
Pros: Ambience and atmosphere of the place plus dining is great. Just feels diferent and "special".
Cons: Unfortunately the pool area was not "open for business" which is surprising for us Europeans at the end of May and with Memorial Weekend so near too.
Location: Loved Sandwich in total and hotel location ideal provided you have a car.
We loved the character and "old world" appearance and attitude of this hotel, it's history and the great staff added to the experience.

It is a quiet retreat in Sandwich MA.Posted Aug 6, 2011
We did not see anything that would make this a destination hotel. It was clean, good service and quiet. The atmosphere in the main dinning room was comforting in that the gardens with the waterfall were visible from all the dinning locations. A seperate tavern bar and dinning room was also available for an informal setting. However, we can not reccmmend the food as being unusual or different from any other quality hotel. For example; the lobster advertised as 1 and 1/2 pounds was not more than 6 onces of actual meat. The shrimp was dry and spongey; not something you would expect from a New England town.

fine hotel/ BnBPosted Jul 1, 2011
Lovely place with AWESOME (2) restaurants. Quaint, colonial neighborhood. Room a bit old smelling, even though 'deluxe' room. Noisy from footsteps on 2nd floor. But, building was of 100+ years old, so, these inconveniences to be expected. Lovely pool but spa not working well, even after speaking to management. Fine stay for a night or 2.

As usual, the hotel was wonderful - we look forward to returning again and again.Posted Jul 7, 2010
Not only is the hotel a great place to stay in a lovely little town, the food at the restaurant is amazing, rivaling many meals we have enjoyed at top restaurants in Chicago and New York. I would go back for the food alone! The garden outside the atrium is beautiful - breakfast there is a perfect way to start your day!
