Very nice hotel with lots of historyPosted Nov 3, 2013
Pros: I especially enjoyed the free afternoon tea which was served in the "Gathering Room" where you could meet other guests.
Cons: We weren't informed of the room type and should have been given the option to upgrade as the room wasn't suitable for people staying more than 1 night
Location: The location was ideal and provided easy access to all the attractions on the island. Ideal as a base for touring.
The hotel was very welcoming especially the reception area and the reception staff. However, the room although clean and adequate had no outside window which made it very dark. The restaurant and the tavern served delightful meals at reasonable prices and the staff were all very attentive. The hotel was very busy with functions on most days and nights but there was always space for the residents.

Loved the serenity of the wonderfully landscapedPosted Aug 16, 2013
Loved the serenity of the wonderfully landscaped outdoor pool. Bathrooms need a bit of updating but nice BR toiletries. Air Conditioner sound was a bit noisy. Staff very amenable. Wonderful restaurant atmosphere. Be careful with Expedia rack rate; chose rate with breakfast included but this was misleading. Received a breakfast voucher for $15 off breakfast bill only.

Cape Cod CharmPosted Jun 12, 2013
Pros: Location and olde world feel
Cons: Nearly time for some new bedroom carpets and bathroom fittings!
Location: Sandwich is a charming village. Walk from the hotel to the boardwalk / sea. Also, the Sandwich Museum and Gardens is well worth a visit.
This was our 4th stay at the Dan'l Webster and I'm sure it won't be our last! This charming old inn is in the beautiful village of Sandwich - one of our favourite places to visit in the States. Like all old buildings the Dan'l Webster has a charm of its own, but also like all old buildings you have to make allowances for the lack of modern amenities like lifts (elevators) and the quirks of the old furniture and bathroom fittings. Most of the staff are charming although a couple of servers in the restaurant could do with smiling occasionally! The Tavern is very good value pre 6pm, but a bit expensive for what it is after 6pm. Having stayed in various types of rooms over the last few years, I would recommend paying a bit extra for one of the luxury / deluxe rooms over the basic ones.

Comfortable hotel in a good locationPosted Apr 13, 2013
Pros: Comfortable, quiet and traditional with friendly staff
Cons: Unfortunately unable to accommodate an early breakfast request
Location: Great location for exploring the Cape and getting there from RI
We stayed at the Dan'l Webster for 2 nights. We found the staff friendly and helpful on check-in and at breakfast, although it was a shame that they could not accommodate our request to have breakfast served before 8am on the day we needed to check out (although this might have been because we were there 'out of season'). The location was good for exploring the Cape and getting there from Providence. We had an enormous room which was clean and had all the expected facilities. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.

Don't botherPosted Feb 5, 2013
Pros: Breakfast waitress
Location: Location is good
We had stayed at the Dan'l Webster a few years ago and were impressed by the service and room. Our recent stay was below average. I am 6'3" and we were given a handicap room where everything was close to the floor. It seemed all the old fixtures from the more expensive rooms were used to maintain this one. The breakfast voucher we received was for $15.00 per room. The breakfast was ok but nothing special. The front desk person was not friendly at check in and at check out; we were not asked how our stay was. We expected more from this Inn and would have been better off staying at any of the chain hotels which offer more amenities. We have crossed this hotel off our list of quick get-a-ways.

Wonderful hotel in a great location.Posted Nov 27, 2012
The Dan'l Webster is a wonderful historic hotel. It is very comfortable with modern amenities without losing the charm of this landmark. The staff was excellent and very helpful. I will definitely be returning.

Quaint hotel in a lovely town.Posted Nov 3, 2012
Lovely hotel and excellent service. In the middle of a small town which is beautiful. The meal in the hotel was very good. Hired a car and travelled all over Cape Cod. Sandy storm had just gone so we were lucky to have an enjoyable trip.

Good locationPosted Aug 24, 2012
Pros: The location was very pretty. Lovely town.
Location: The Daniel Webster Inn is in Sandwich, Massachusetts, a very pretty town with lots of interesting shopping.
My husband and I stayed one night at the Inn and it was okay. I did think the carpets needed to be cleaned. We had a two room suite with Air Conditioning but it seemed the A/C in the bedroom was not working or didn't have a vent. That could have been an issue if it had been any hotter. There was a coffee maker in the room with real half and half, and there was a refrigerator but nothing in it. There was one bottle of water on the mantel. Oh, and the TV remotes did not work. I was a little disappointed, but we were only there for the one night. If we were going to be there any longer we would have spoken to the management, but it was only for the night.

Wish we could have stayed longer! An absolutely clean room along with comfy beds. Wonderful restaurant too. Great visit!

Elegant airport hotelPosted Jun 11, 2012
Cons: Room air
Wonderful ambience. Terrific breakfasts. Bartenders top notch. Downside - nice size room had squeeky beds and an airconditioner that sounded like a 747. After about 4 landings and takeoffs we opted for a constant fan. Other than that an elegant old Inn in a wonderful setting.
