Really enjoyed the stayPosted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: The views were awesome, the staff very accomodating, the rooms were comfortable
Cons: Renovations should take care of small bathrooms
Location: Get a railpass. They are good for the Rhine ferries and you can hop on and off all day
This is the perfect place to stay if you are planning to visit areas around the Rhine. The ferry picks you up right in front of the hotel. We were originally given a small room with no view in the rear of the hotel and asked to move to the front. They were very accommodating about moving us and we were able to enjoy the river views and the castle across the river. The rooms were clean and comfortable and they will be doing some renovations over the winter to enlarge the bathrooms. There are several good restaurants and kneipen (local bars) nearby. The train station is about a block and a half away. Breakfast is various meats and cheese, breads, cereals, eggs fruit and yogurts and is a good start for the day. I would stay here again.

Convenient hotelPosted Oct 10, 2013
Pros: Large room, shower worked well, location was good, breakfast was plentiful, wifi included.
Cons: Décor was somewhat outdated.
Location: Castles all around, other towns close by, catch a day cruise on the river.
Location was the best part of this hotel, with boats, trains, and roads easily accessible. Room was comfortable, but not charming or uniquely German in any way. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was filling, but not necessarily memorable. Hosts were nice enough.

Perfect StayPosted Aug 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was a last minute booking Which prove to be a fantastic choice. From the minute of arrival to departure (two days) Alexander the owner cod not have been more helpful. His hotel is in a perfect location right opposite the ferry terminals. It was spotlessly clean with the rooms much better than we had expected. Breakfast Buffett was perfect and extremely varied. This is a perfect hotel nothing was too much bother and always with a smile. We have already recommended to friends and will return next year for a longer stay. Thanks Alexander From Scotland

Good location as an HQ for day tripsPosted Aug 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great service and good location. The only knock is that when you must leave the windows open for ventilation during the summer nights (no air conditioning, which is not uncommon) you hear every car that passes underneath the window...and there are lots of them starting very early in the morning. Management was very proactive and always went the extra mile. I would stay here again.

St. GoatPosted Jul 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was in a great location. We do not usually eat until later in the evening. We were unable to find a restaurant that would serve food after 16:00. There were several places to get a pint but no food.

Ideal stopover hotel on the banks of the Rhine.Posted Jul 26, 2013
Pros: View of Rhine & large room with balcony.
Cons: TV not working & not clear if dinner was available
Location: Perfect. Beautiful view over the Rhine. Handy for boats on or across Rhine. Easy to explore Sankt Goar & visit Rheinfels Castle.
Stayed overnight when driving from Italy to Rotterdam. Had family room with a balcony and view of the Rhine. Enormous room perfect for a family of four. TV didn't work but as we were only there one night it didn't affect our stay. Breakfast was adequate for our needs. Car parking was available nearby.

We had an awesome time on our visit to Germany and loved staying at the Rheinfels hotel. The view was amazing; the breakfast delicious, and the staff was very friendly and courteous. The rooms were nice and clean and this will be my first choice should I return.

On the Rhein.Posted Jul 10, 2013
Pros: Right on the river. Quiet and away from the train.
Cons: Key chain for room. Breakfast could have a few more choices.
Location: View of castle Katz. Right across the street is a station to get a the boat up and down the river. Very close to what you may call the city center.
Hotel was right on the river. Room had an " American " style shower. Meaning not having to step up 3 feet into a tub to get in. The size however was limited and maneuverability was minimal. Best part for me was FREE INTERNET a rare thing for Europe. Their idea of a double bed was two single mattresses smashed together so you better be " close " friends. Breakfast was traditional German. Hotel staff knew English but it would be a lot easier if you know some German. But that can be said for most of Sankt Goar. No elevator so be prepared for stairs. The key to the room has a 2 pound key chain. All in all, it was a great place to stay.

Room 39, MetalFest 2013 weekend.Posted Jun 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Room was very clean and adaptors for room sockets available on request from management. Wi-Fi worked effortlessly and without glitches which was especially useful for live local travel updates and on-line airline check-in. BBC news and CNN available on hotel TV service. Breakfast as simple or as filling as you need it to be. Friendly and helpful staff. Room rates very competitive especially as there was a major event in the locale. K-D landing stage across the street from the hotel front door and Ferry Loreley a two minute amble from K-D.

great stay in St. GoarPosted May 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
We went to St. Goar for a weekend and had a great stay at Hotel Rheinfels. It is easy to find, clean, and our room was surprisingly large for a European hotel. Then included breakfast was included, and a typical European breakfast. Service was pleasant. We have no complaints and will recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in St. Goar.
