Stayed after peak season, and the desk clerk upgraded our standard room to sea view room with balcony for small extra fee. Car parking provided in property's lot served by lift to all floors. Overall excellent value with desk staff English competent and very helpful. Imperia has an autostrade exit near the hotel. BTW, diesel fuel prices are about 30 cents/liter less on the French side of the border, so plan accordingly before you fill up tank.

The Residence dei Due Porti is a must stay if you want a reasonably priced, modern and ever-so friendly and responsive hotel in Sanremo. We stayed in both a family sized room with a slight view and a small Meditarranean view one and both rooms were immaculate, cozy and modernly decorated and furnished. The staff could not be friendlier, the location is beach front and yet only a short walk, if you're traveling light, from the superb newer underground train station. Literally outside the hotel is part of the long (Europe's longest) bike trail they created when they moved the train lines from the beach front to the mountain tunnel, and the hotel will let you use one of several basic bikes for free. We rode for 2 hours and still did not run out of trail, instead finding stunning ocean view places to stop for coffee and ice cream. Hotel is a short walk from a great Conad supermarket for supplies and from restaurants, bars etc. which take care of locals, tourists and the port boat traffic. Unconditonally recommended.

Very nice hotel, needs some refurbishing on the outside, but still found it charming. Room we had was clean, spacy and had a new bathroom. Perfect location being very close to San Remo and Bordighera, even Monaco only 35 km away. Parking space available, but if you're driving a big car, make sure you're fully sober. Wanted to eat in the local village restaurant, but was fully booked for the entire week. Plenty of restaurants in San Remo though, but if you like it smaller scale and less crowded, then Bordighera is the place to be. Very nice area, very green. Breakfast was OK but fairly basic, as you could not order any eggs or bacon. Maybe this will change as the owners are new (Feb 2010 I think) and still have plans to make some changes. Lunch at the hotel was very good quality. People are very friendly and responsive. Free wireless connection as well. Would surely go back.

"nice hotel on a marina with a small private beach."
Good directions to exit the highway, but after finding two good signs indicating direction of hotel, we actually passed it as the sign outside the hotel was inadequate - difficult to turn around and come back. Receptionist extremely pleasant and spoke excellent English; room was attractive with sea view and very large balcony. Dinner in hotel was delicious and service was good; however breakfast area is uncomfortable for sitting; breakfast products adequate to good.
