“Excellent modern no-frills hotel”

Hesperia Sant Joan Suites is incredibly good value for modern no-frills accommodation. All staff seemed bi-lingual and all were extremely helpful. Internet computer free of charge in atrium for guests' use. Restaurant and bar also very good value - 3 course (+ beer) lunchtime buffet is an absolute must for value. Room well equipped and clean, although sat. TV had very few channels in English. On the minus side, the Hesperia is, however, not too easy to find, and is a very long way out from the city centre ( 13-14 euros by Taxi) , being beyond the usual city tourist maps and not a big enough feature on smaller scale maps, although fairly close for airport transfers? Although situated at the end of the 'Diagonal', this is not on most maps we could find! This minor incovenience, however, is overcome, to my mind, by sheer value for money, and the daily journey by public transport into the city allowed me to see much more of the real city than I would have, if based closer to the centre?

“Top Notch Suite”

Not cozy, but sometimes a traveler needs BIG and impersonal and efficient. This was that, and very welcome after staying in much smaller hotels during this vacation trip. Nothing was left to be desired. I would definitely return.

This hotel is very clean and modern. rooms are well decorated with huge beds!! we stayed in a family room, there are children that stay there but not many and wouldn't recommend any longer than 3 day stay with children as the hotel is quite isolated. In walking distance there are two nice cafe' and a park, chemist etc but not much else. We travelled to barcelona with a hire car and that was good. would recommend but be prepared for the ghost town feel.

Sant Joan Despi hotel was a very nice hotel...the rooms were cleaned every day and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a tram a very short walk from the hotel which made the short trip to the centre very easy and convienient. I would definietly reccommend a stay at Sant Joan Despi hotel as it made our stay in Barcelona a very pleasant one and we shall be coming back soon!!!!

Very good hotel with excellent value, but location makes it difficult without a car. Walk, tram, then metro to get to town centre (about 50mins).

Utensils should be left in room Tea making facilities should be in the room Enjoyed my stay there. Staff were friendly and keen to assist and it was very clean.

“It Was Excellent!”

Beautiful hotel, warm and friendly staff, good location (30 mins from the center), well equipped rooms with plenty of space (including a fully equipped kitchenette), clean and perfectly maintained... Simply a jewel! We could not believe at how good it was, and the price was the cheapest we could find out of the center! The staff are so nice - they helped us getting around the city throughout the week we were there and were happy to assist us with any request we had (although we didn't have that many). We simply enjoyed every minute of it and felt like it was our home for the week. We would definitely go back there the next time we're in Barcelona!
