Very nice place

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: I really liked the room. I didnt had the time to dive into the pool
Cons: Staff service
Location: Location is so/so. But i wouldnt mind staying there in future trips
I booked a room for less than $40 on expedia, but when i got to the hotel, i was told that the security deposit was of $100, an amount that i didnt have on me. I wanted to stay just one night there, and its crazy how the staff attending me wasnt willing to do anything to facilitate my condition. He was so close to throw me out until i offered $50 which was all I had left in my pockets. The staff isnt well trained to be hotel staff unfortunately. Other than that, the hotel is very nice in a quiet place. A little bit far if you dont have a car, but if you're willing and love to walk, thats ok. Rooms are spacious enough, probably the most confortable bed i had! The restorant doesnt have a lot of choice and is also a little bit expensive, better find a place not too far to eat.

Pros: It was a nice little hotel.
We stayed at Hotel Luisiana before heading down to San Isidro de General and it was a perfect place to crash after flying into San Jose. The food was great and the staff was helpful with directions.

We love making this charming hotel our home base when we are in the big city! Can't beat the good deals we find in expedia!

Nice hotel.

Pros: Rooms were large and clean.
Cons: Help with luggage would have been appreciated.
Clean hotel, fairly easy to find, staff were pleasant and very reasonably priced shuttle to the airport. The downside was no elevator and no help offered to lug our suitcases to the 3rd floor! Asked for a wake up call as we had a very early flight and this did not happen! Overall an ok experience.

Good value for money

Pros: The beds were very comfortable. The free phone calls was a nice perk. The restaurant offer was good, but they need staff to actually pay attention.
Cons: While wifi is available throughout the hotel, you can't really count of it working (seems to be an issue across most of Costa Rica).
The hotel is decent, and overall a good value for the price they offer.

Clean and comfortable hotel close to airport.

Pros: Helpful front desk people. Comfortable beds. Thick cotton bath towels. Morning wake-up call. Great food.
We only stayed @ Hotel Luisiana for one night before we took the hotel shuttle in the morning, very early. The fee was $20 US Dollars. We appreciated the cool evening breezes as we relaxed at our table on the balcony after spending days at the beach. The pool looked lovely but we never got in it. Instead, we were intrigued by the hotel menu and decided to have something to eat even though we weren't all that hungry. The food was delicious and the service was excellent!

Quiet Boutique Hotel

My first night in San Jose, Costa Rica at Hotel Luisiana was pleasant. I enjoyed the smart TV and the room-ready Netflix account. It was a bit difficult to find at night but we did find it after a few detours. They are currently undergoing some renovations so hopefully it will be nicer when it's done.
