Close to the airport and close to naturePosted Mar 23, 2014
We stayed one night before leaving Costa Rica. It was a lovely way to transition back into our otherwise urban lives

Hidden GemPosted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: Everything but mostly the friendly, simple ambiance. It's peaceful!
Cons: I liked the breakfast but it would nice if there was a little more variety.
Location: Very good restaurants abound in the area! I had excellent and locally sourced meals at Doris, Bacchus and Product C in nearby Escazu.
I can't recommend Candiles highly enough after my six-day stay. Lovely garden with good, simple breakfast. The rooms are clean but not fussy and the beds are very comfortable. I recommend the suites because the kitchenettes come with a small frig. that give one extra flexibility. The staff is very professional and helpful and they speak excellent English. They go out of their way to help guests, including ordering me a shuttle to the airport in the middle of the night and giving me suggestions about where to go in Santa Ana.

Superb Hotel Every Amenity You Could NeedPosted Mar 2, 2014
This was the best hotel on my trip to Costa Rica. It was very new and clean and had all the amenities I could want. The area doesn't have a ton around but there are a few great restaurants nearby (checkout tacobar) and it's a good place for getting picked up for tours such as Poas or Irazu. Much nicer that staying in downtown san jose which is unbearable noisy but still close enough to do the local tours.

Central locationPosted Dec 6, 2013
Pros: Two separate rooms, large bed room and large living area with table and chairs, divan and kitchen facilities. Newer and very clean.
We had the suite for three nights. Beautiful! Close in Santa Ana location, near many restaurants and a super market.

Nice hotel in a strange locationPosted Nov 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is off of the main road a bit tucked back in a neighborhood. The neighborhood felt safe but if you stay here you need a vehicle or will need to take a taxi to get food. There is no other commercial building in a close radius. The service at this hotel was great and everyone was super friendly. I like the junior suite room with the fridge, microwave and toaster oven. The bathroom was big and spacious. I'm surprised that they charge as much as they do for the rooms considering that there are other hotels in Santa Ana for the same price with better locations. However, if you want someplace tucked away and quiet, this is it. I would stay here again in a suite room.

Good Hotel but NOSY Cleaning Lady!!!Posted Nov 16, 2013
Pros: Everything except the nosy cleaning staff.
Cons: Fire the cleaning staff and hire others.
Location: There is nothing nearby and nothing to do nearby but this hotel is not far from anything....call for a taxi.
The hotel is very nice and clean. The pool looks nice but it rained everyday and I didn't use it. BUT.....EVERY TIME I left the hotel the cleaning lady would enter my suite....I keep hanging up the PRIVACY sign on the door but she would wait until I left and enter anyway!!! The staff (with that exception) are all very nice and also speak english as well as espanol. I was upgraded to the junior suite since I was staying for a week...it was very nice....even had pots and pans even though there is absolutely nothing to use them with!!!! Maybe if a stovetop was provided....or even a hotplate!! I thought that was very funny! The restaurant is only open for a very expensive breakfast and I never attended so I do not know how that part of the hotel is but I would guess that it also is probably pleasing. All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone as long as you have NO valuables in your room for the nosy cleaning lady to think about. So, the junior suite is very nice and clean.....comes with useless pots and pans to play with. Pool looks nice. Staff are all very helpful and friendly and many are bi-lingual. Just do NOT trust the cleaning staff!!!

Apartment-like setting in residential areaPosted Sep 14, 2013
Pros: Price and quality...room size, gret bathrooms.
Location: Shopping and restaurants
Although somewhat hard to find, it is very convenient if you have a car. Great value for amenities with rooms resembling mini apartments.

New hotel, excellent locationPosted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: It was clean and very good location
Location: It had a great location, the downtown was walking distance, and by car or taxi no more than 5 minutes of all the night life, very quiet neighborhood.
It is a brand new hotel, with an excellent location, price was really good. It was very near downtown of the city I stayed, the room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely come back here.

Nice hotelPosted Aug 6, 2013
Cons: coffee maker in room, bigger TV.
Location: Nice neighborhood, stores and restaurants not too far.
I very much enjoyed the Los Candiles. It was clean, comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and informative. I love the effort they make to be sustainable and efficient. The showers aren't the hottest(heated by solar on premises), but they are big and beautiful. The neighborhood is residential and safe. I just wish there were coffee makers in the room. A good value for a nice place.
