A dog of a hotel in a beautiful location.

Posted Jul 25, 2014
In the process of renovation. This room should not have been made available to the public. Dirty room. No closet or towel bars in bath. Ratty furniture. No screens on Windows. Continental breakfast inferior to others we have had. Staff unresponsive. Outdoor trash cans overflowing. Terrible experience in my beautiful hometown.

Location is the draw, right across from the beach

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: See above
The door to the outside looked as though it had been pried open with a crow bar on may occasions. The plantation shutters were missing parts. The man at the front desk the day we checked out looked as though he had just gotten out of bed.

Close to the beach

Posted Jun 6, 2014
From the outside its charming.. Then u start looking around its in pretty bad shape it looks like they did a remodel on the bathrooms the mirrors are set for very short people no blow dryers the front desk girl was so unfriendly ,the door had a dead bolt that was 1/2 there and the door looked like it had been broken into many times so we took our valuables with us which was a pain!, the shutters in the room were broken ,cigarette butts all over the sidewalks overall tacky. Had pots of cactus that hadnt been watered in months .It sad because this could be an adorable boutique motel and they could charge alot more if they had it professionally decorated.

Motel that couldn't be any closer to the beach!

Posted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Fixtures and fittings not very new
Location: Across the road from the beach and pier. Very close to State Street (main shopping street) and restaurants.
We spent the last night of our holiday here. If you choose here or not depends what you want to spend. IT IS A MOTEL (check out the front sign) so don't expect anything different. The fittings and fixtures are OK but 'tired'. The staff were good and helpful with questions and they kept the room clean. It is right on the beach front and is half the price of the similar places with the same view. Continental Breakfast (juice, pastries and coffee) on the communal terrace at the front overlooking the beach was worth a lot. We mainly stayed in motels for 4 weeks on our holiday. Many were better and a couple were worse - but back to cost and location. Overall we rated it as 3 out of 5 because of the combination of location and cost (relative to other places).

Very shabby

Posted May 25, 2014
The hotel location was great but that was all that was good the furniture was falling to bits and was drastically in need of a facelift. We paid 268 dollars for a night and it definitely was not good value.

Smelled of bleach

Posted May 18, 2014
First the staff was friendly. They put us in a room quickly. But the room smelled of heavy bleach. Room is small, bathroom is small. No a/c. It was 100 degrees in Santa Barbara. The door had only one working lock and my 4 year old was easily able to open the door. So we complained and got another room. That room had working locks but still small with a jet tub that did not have working jets. No a/c. I think the price was expensive for the lack of amenities. I ended up booking another hotel called Avania Inn a couple blocks away with fridge, microwave, larger room and A/C and very clean. I lost my money for the 2 nights I booked it but I will make sure I do my research next time before booking a hotel.

Great location by the sea.

Not the greatest place but ok. Tile floors, no closets in rooms. No desks to work from or convenient plugs. Kinda like a do it yourself project by someone that didn't know how to do it. Refrigerator didnt work. Toilet paper holder broken off. Lamp switches didn't work. Got termite pellets falling in my luggage. No screens on windows so rooms got hot. Stairs were not lite at night. If you want beach its a great spot but too high priced.

Great location

The location is what this little motel has going for it. Across the street from the beach & pier. We chose it because it is walking distance from the train station and easy to wall to pier, shops & restaurants.

Don't be fooled!

Despite the fact that this place is a motel, the room was pretty decent. It was clean. The room had a flat screen tv. The bathroom was clean too and there was a jacuzzi tub. The location is also great! It is right across the street from the beach and is within walking distance of a ton of restaurants and bars! Great experience. Would definitely go back!

Shelter for One Night.

Posted Feb 25, 2014
The good: close to the beach, close to the center of town , tile floors, hot shower, bed was acceptable. The gritty: No control of smoking guests. We were assigned a smoked-in room, then reassigned to another room. The new room had no refrigerator and the staff declined our request for a refrigerator. Poor sound dampening between rooms. Though the bathroom window opened, the bedroom windows were fastened shut with wood screws. No air conditioning, All surfaces chipped, scratched, worn, and in need of maintenance/remodeling. No coffee maker.
