It is a nice hotel close to our family

Posted Dec 22, 2014
Very pleasant stay - staff was very courteous. Room very clean - we had decided to stay an extra night and staff was able to accommodate us. Hotel is in a great area - lovely small town, nice shops and close by to beautiful Santa Barbara and all it has to offer. Have stayed in this hotel several times before and will always pick it whenever we are unable to stay with our children..

Nice hotel, but too close to the freeway

Posted Dec 15, 2014
The hotel room was nice and comfy except for the noise from the nearby freeway (Highway 101).

Grounds were very nice, rooms very old , above average breakfast. I liked the plants all around as well as the appointments.

Dark and noisy

Posted Dec 10, 2014
Pros: Not a lot'
Cons: Room lighting and an update.
Location: Within yards of freeway, 15 minute walk to town centre and sea. Not much to do if not a surfer/ swimmer/ dog walker but that"s the idea of hold.
The penalty of being handy to the freeway is the noise of traffic. Courtyard rooms are quieter but one can't leave a window open ( for fresh air instead if air-con) because of it. Our courtyard room was well equipped (large fridge, ironing board etc) but so dark. With the wooden ceiling it was like sleeping in an upturned boat. Unfortunately, the room lighting was wholly inadequate with one having to go round turning on a series of table lights. Didn't use the cafe but could certainly smell it! They object to smoking yet the odour of onions drifted into the room and corridor from the kitchen. Ok for businessman for one night. We were tourists for three nights and compared with other hotels we used, thought it a bit pricey and glad to leave. And we wern't asked if we enjoyed our stay!

Great location. Close to freeway and beach

Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: The grounds and courtyard Location Overall look and feel of the hotel
Cons: The water pressure in the showers was terrible The noise from the floors above The air conditioner
Location: Rincon Brewery and Island Brewery Carpinteria State Beach Shops and restaurants on Linden Avenue
The hotel has beautiful grounds. The courtyard is tranquil and beautiful. The rooms are nice and fairly large. The bathrooms are a little small. The water pressure is horrible. Also, since the hotel is 3 stories, the noise from the level above us was annoying -- it seemed like we had Leadfoot above us. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but did check it out and it was cute.

Pros: Location and garden
Cons: complementary breakfast
Location: Disneyland
We stayed here for one night. The staff was very nice. She offered us a room with two queen beds because she saw we had 3 people even we booked a king-bed room. Our room faced the beautiful garden. Parking is free.

Functional, clean but out-dated

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Booked a Deluxe King bedroom and was a bit disappointed. We got a room on the first floor right by the check-in, luckily it was very quiet though. The design of the room was very out-dated, so was the bathroom. On the positive side, it was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Small gym but it had the necessary basics.

Comfortable and large room.

Posted Nov 30, 2014
Pros: The room was clean and spacious, patio overlooks pretty courtyard, and beds were very comfortable.
Cons: The lobby did not offer coffee, tea, or even water as other Best Western Plus hotels do. The lighting in the room could be improved.
Stayed here overnight on way to central CA. We (3 adults) were comfortable in a third floor 2 Queen room facing the courtyard. With the window closed, the freeway noise was minimal. Beds/pillows/linens were very comfortable. Bathroom was a good size and towels were thick and fluffy.
