“Carpenteria BW”
I read one other Expedia review that was not at all complimenatry of this hotel. I totally disagree. This hotel did a GREAT job in all respects and is extremely worth of your patronage! I found it very charming and the help quite friendly and accommodating.
“can't wait to go back”
One of the nicest hotels and towns to stay in.I use to go as a kid. Very relaxing.
“Great value near Santa Barbara”
We stayed at the Carpinteria inn as part of a Coastal tour. This was one of the better hotels we had. The room was clean, the hotel was in great condition and they have a nice pool (a little small). The restaurant left quite a bit to be desired, but there are so many restaurants close to the hotel that it didn't matter. Simply walk south 5 minutes and there are several good mid level restaurants to choose from. If you're looking for something more, try Santa Barbara, a 15 minute drive north.
“Great Sleep!”
Nice and relaxing, beautiful hotel.
“Would recommend this hotel, very convenient to Route 101”
The room was very clean, comfortable, a little small, but OK.
“Carpinteria”
Very pleasant stay. Only negative was the fact that the man next door was sitting outside on the shared balcony smoking, even though the rooms were labelled non-smoking and indicating a penalty, etc. if one smoked. I wanted to have my door to the balcony open and this was spoilt by the fact that he was smoking. I would recommend that they stop the practice of allowing guests to smoke on a shared balcony. I did mention this to the front desk.
“Excellent”
Excellent service, beautiful flowers, best location
“Very good value for the price.”
The hotel is quiet and the rooms are clean. They have a nice courtyard (if you can get a room on the ground floor surrounding the courtyard you actually have some out door space).
“Great deal for the price”
Santa Barbara area hotels can be very expensive in the summer time. This hotel was a close drive to where I needed to be in Santa Barbara, yet much cheaper than staying right in town. Easy access off the 101. Little balcony off the room overlooking the courtyard was great. The courtyard itself was very pretty. Staff was friendly. Nothing luxurious, but certainly comfortable and clean. Ask for a room overlooking the courtyard or toward the front, to avoid the freeway noise in the back
“one exception”
Our stay at the Best Western Plus in Carpenteria was based partly on location of the attractions we wanted to see, namely several California Missions. The accomodations were nice and clean. This BW is the charming mission style of the area and had a lovely courtyard. We ate one meal at the on-site restaurant, a standard breakfast which was fine. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The one exception was that this hotel is surrounded by traffic noise from the freeway and two busy streets. A courtyard room is a must if you need peace and quiet.
