“Great location”
Very nice hotel in a great location.
“Loved the Canary”
Very helpful staff and courteous. Will return again.
“A Lovely Hotel!”
While we only stayed for a night, we very much enjoyed the Canary Hotel. The rooms were well appointed and the bed was very luxurious and comfortable. It was well decorated and the staff was very courteous and prompt. My only critique is that the iron and ironing board were second rate. Other than that, I really liked this hotel.
“happy guests”
My husband and I decided a week ago to go to Santa Barbara from LA for Labor Day weekend. We wanted to stay at the Biltmore, but waited too long to book and they were sold out. The Canary Hotel was an available option and we chose it after reading many reviews of it and others on line. The decor is pretty and fresh, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the room and bed were extremely comfortable. We liked the downtown location and being able to walk to State Street for breakfast, which we would not have been able to from the Biltmore. We luckily both brought earplugs--it may have been a bit noisy at night if we hadn't--our 3rd floor room looked out onto a gas station. The upstairs pool deck has a nice view, but the design is a bit convoluted--i guess they did the best they could with that space. We were not in Santa Barbara for sunbathing so didn't miss it. We had a very nice weekend at the Canary Hotel.
“Just ok fornthe rate”
Arrived late in the afternoon. The room was ready for checking. Hotel centrally located. In the early morning, awakened to the garbage outside my bedroom window. When I mentioned this to the front desk there was no apology or concern. I asked for a one o'clock check out and told no. I just it best to store my bag.
“Great location, very clean, not worth the inflated price (rip-off)”
Unfortunately you don't have a better choice (or comparable) in Santa Barbara. Location is great, the hotel is very clean, the price is inflated beyond belief. They try to rip you off with anything (wireless internet - even though it is listed as complimentary), parking, while offering a view to a gas station for the 500$/night. We were prepared to walk away when we got the room changed, free wireless internet (as expected when booking), and a reasonable view. All in all, I would not recommend that you stay there unless you absolutely have to be downtown and you plan on a brief stay.
“Great stay”
wonderful hotel and the room and confort was incredable. The wife and I stayed for two day and left relaxed and refreshed. Good location to all the shops and great food. I only gave a 3 on loation because the hotel is accross the street from the Greyhound station although we didn't experience any issues with that.
“Great hotel, great beds, great location. Can't wait to return.”
Hotel was perfectly located. Room was beautiful. Beds were incredible. Bathroom was really nice. Lively hotel within easy walking distance of the main shopping and restaurants. Great service. Really, really pleased with finding this hotel. Great.
“Great Hotel Experience”
We would probaly visit Santa Barbara again just for the hotel.
“Very nice place”
Very relaxing and convenient to down town.
