Don't Always Get What You Paid For

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Reasonable priced, decent area.
Cons: Had is better days, needs a lot of TLC.
Location: Solvang!
I knew I was not staying at a 5 Star Hotel nor was I expecting such treatment. What I was expecting was to get reasonable accommodations and/or assistance if needed. The room was clean upon arrival; the pool and Jacuzzi were not. The internet was very spotty at best...it would drop quiet often. Was not able to view any of the local channels except for one; same thing on the other cable channels, only able to view a handful. At one time, we were watching a movie and the TV re-setted on its on and the channel disappeared. So I was unable to finished watching the movie. I called the front desk and no one picket up. Called later and I was told that no one else was having issues. The room was not thoroughly clean when we came back in the evening. The water on the sink would take a long time to drain after every use.

The Inn could use renovations.

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: The people were friendly and the beds slept well.
Cons: New furniture in the lobby and rooms.
Location: We visited Solvang, went wine tasting, and toured the Santa Ines Mission.
Days Inn Buellton needs a facelift. The bathroom sink and tub drained slow. Wi-Fi was difficult to get. House keeping thought that we checked out and cleaned our room, tossing a few things that we needed.

Nice little hotel

Posted Mar 21, 2014
Location: The hotel is located near Solvang and Santa Ynez.
I stayed there for one night and was quite pleased. The room was clean, large enough and had all you need, including a fridge. Breakfast was also ok, with juices, fruit, cerealsand a waffle maker. All in all you get a lot for the money.

Only if there is nothing else available

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: It was available. There was a bar attached.
Cons: Most everything, but really it just needs some TLC and upkeep both in the physical appearance and accommodations.
It was disappointing how run down this place was. The walls were paper thin, the refrigerator was so loud that we HAD to turn it off to listen to the TV, neither of the windows opened, there weren't any towels in the lobby when we wanted to use the Jacuzzi, and last but not least the breakfast at 8:00am consisted of 3 pieces of stale bread and some coffee. No juice, no muffins, no fruit, no batter for waffles....nothing!

nice place

Posted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: amenities and friendly staff
Cons: Ants seen in bathroom
Location: I did the Century Bike ride in Solvang and ate at a near by Cowboy steak place nearby. Lots to do. Went wine tasting and enjoyed the venue. nice place
The place is quaint with memories of the movie "sideways." Loved that movie and it was fun being apart of it. The place is no 4 star hotel, but worth the money. The staff was polite and the breakfast and amenities were very good. I've stayed in much higher priced places that don't offer a fridge and micro-wave. I didn't get to experience the bar for after drinks. It was inviting and I wish I knew it was there earlier. This place is very nice and next year, God willing, I'll be back for the century bike race and stay there.

Watch out for the bar next door!

Posted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: The front desk person was pleasant, but she said we had the best room in the place.
Cons: Knock the place down and build a new hotel.
Location: Buellton is not the meca for tourist unless you enjoy the ostrich farm.
The stay would have been what we expected for the amount of money spent. With the walls as thin as paper, the bar lets out at 2am and the patrons are loud when they leave. Not to be out done by the fraternity paper one flight above us, the maintenance of the room heater and faulty lighting would keep everyone from having a decent night's sleep.

Cheap and convenient

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Cheap, easy access to the major highways/roads, pool/jacuzzi (full disclosure: we didn't actually use the pool due to the poor weather).
Cons: Upgrade TVs. This seems like the easiest change to make. The TV was one of the big old box version and really small for how far from the bed it sat.
Location: Great location for its ease of access to the major highways. Ellen's is just a hop-skip-and-a-jump away and is a great little breakfast spot.
We visited the area for a day of wine tasting and just stayed one night. We are frequent visitors to the area but had never stayed in the Windmill Days Inn - even though we had frequently seen this hotel as one of the cheaper options available. This is a great option if you don't plan to spend much time in your hotel and/or you are looking for the cheapest place to stay. It suited our purposes just fine and the folks at the front were very nice. However, there are no views and it is a bit outdated.

The W.C.must good work in a hotel.

Posted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: The stay in this hotel was for me comforting and agreable.
My experienc ith the W.C. was disagreable. The beds were comfortable, the spa is exellent. The breakfast is too simple and a bit chip. However I felt myself very good in hotel.
