We have been coming to this property since 3/2020. We feel this property is great and have enjoyed every stay. The rooms are clean. The staff is always helpful and friendly. My only complaint is that the complimentary breakfast has gotten less each year. It is disappointing. It would be nice if you offered something more and not a list of items we can buy.

Next to an RV place, they call it a resort so you will get charged an extra resort fee. It not up to resort level expectations. It does have a fitness center and pool and jacuzzi. About 10 from the downtown where you can eat and try the winery.

The sheets were very thin and worn as was the blanket. The room was large with a teeny bathroom. The furnishings looked like garage sale items! Not welcoming at all!

The receptionist was courteous and helpful. The bartender was also. The hotel seems run down and needs a fresh face. The room is good, nothing fancy. The free continental breakfast is bleak.

The room is awful. We got a handicap assessable room. There is no counter space at all in the bathroom. Just a sink and a toilet. The shower has a weird crusty chair in it. The bed is super low and hard as a damn rock.

My reservation was missing my service dog note and wrong room request, but quickly fixed the room and they were super nice and upgraded me and we got. $12 credit at the bar for being Expedia guest!! I love this place, about our 9th time

The Sideways Inn is a motel that's been nicely renovated in a stylish hipster motif, and the lobby, pool area, and rooms are pleasant. Things I didn't enjoy: The walls and ceiling were so thin, noise was a problem (there were a couple of female lacrosse teams staying on property). Maid service wasn't offered but every three days, so my room wasn't cleaned. And there were a couple of deferred-maintenance issues in my room (a framed photo missing glass, a big stain on the bedspread, wall paint that needed touching up). One nice amenity is that guests can use the facilities (such as a fitness gym and bocce court) from the sister property next door.

Convenient location for visiting the wine country
Convenient location off the 101 and along the 246 Highway to Los Olivos and Solvang. A bit noisy at times from the car wash next door but otherwise comfortable. Our room was right next to where the housekeeping and maintenance people meet, so the first morning of our stay it was a bit loud but the next two mornings it calmed down. The front desk was very helpful and the place has a good deal of charm.

Comfy little quirky spot
Cool hotel close to lots of wineries and restaurants. Live music in the lounge though the lady who checked me in had no clue about it.

Pack your eye mask
We arrived later than planned after hitting a lot of traffic. Lobby is super cute and has various beverages, snacks, and souvenirs for sale. I had to wait while the couple ahead checked in, so just heard the check in info from them. While I was waiting about 4 other couples came in, so it seemed they were a little short staffed. The complementary breakfast is donuts... or you can pay $9 for a tiny egg/sausage mcmuffin. The rooms are clean and nicely styled. They even had a sound machine. The pool and fire pits looked nice but we didn't have time to enjoy. My complaint with the room is it's way too bright. I did read this in another review, but forgot to pack my eye mask. I couldn't sleep, even tried the floor for a while. If light doesn't bother you, you'll be fine! Most hotels nowadays offer full black-out, but the blinds on the entry door let in a lot of light. So, if you stay here just pack your eye mask and you'll be fine. Also check out is 11am.

New Year's Quick Trip
