Relax, excellent service and surroundings.Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: The grounds are impeccable and it has a moderate degree of isolation from the crowds at the main beach area in town.
Cons: The free wireless is quite slow.
Location: Santa Barbara is more about relaxation than things to do, but there are many day trips like the wine growing region.
Very friendly and attentive staff that seem to enjoy what they do. They setting is beautiful and the facility retains its old classic style without sacrificing newer amenities such as updated restrooms.

Lovely old restored hotel with beautiful groundsPosted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Beach access, grounds, ambience
Cons: VERY expensive for a weekend stay. Quite a way from downtown Santa Barbara, a car would be helpful
Location: several miles from town, across the street from a lovely beach, in exclusive Montecito
Spent a weekend here. Dinner at Bella Vista mixed, food great, staff inexperienced. Room nice, a bit loud. Pool small. Complimentary shuttle to Santa Barbara very helpful

A little slice of heavenPosted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: The setting, the comfort, the leisurely pace, the facilities, the very pleasant staff
Cons: Nothing that we could think of.... Would go back at the drop of the hat.
Location: Montecito is a 5 minutes walk away with some nice restaurants , we plumped for a Mexican Los Arroyos. Santa Barbara is 25 minutes by bike-just lovely.
We only stayed one night on our way from LA to San Francisco and we wished we had stayed longer - we stayed in Monterey for two nights in a far poorer hotel. The hotel is set in lush grounds and has a distinctly Spanish feel to it. Wonderful pool with vies of the sea which we were allowed access to for free compared to the usual rate of $200 . Very quiet and peaceful with a smart rooms which were very comfortable. Hope to return one day!

Luxury and class!Posted Aug 1, 2014
Pros: Location! Pet friendly and beautiful grounds!
Cons: Have a few trashcans on the grounds to throw waste, especially when one is trying to dispose of pet waste.
We returned to the Four Seasons two weeks after we had our wedding there and again had an unforgettable experience. The views are beautiful, the food is delicious and the service is phenomenal.

A well-managed, gorgeous hotel!Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: The historic Biltmore is quiet, low-key, and the architecture remarkable. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. And it is on a great beach!
Cons: The small, very crowded pool was a disappointment. Perhaps the beach club could charge a half-day, or pool-swim-only rate, so guests could swim laps.
Location: Hotel is on a good swimming beach and close to Santa Barbara. I recommend Condor Express for whale watching and scheduling a visit to Lotusland.
From check-in to check-out my husband and I felt welcomed and appreciated. The hotel upgraded our Deluxe room to Premier, and gifted us iced champagne, chocolates and macarons for our 25th anniversary. Our cottage room -- comfortable, large -- was at the edge of the property, which could be a negative, but that made it more convenient to self-park. The spacious, ADA-accessible bathroom was attractive and well tended by housekeeping (the maid carefully arranged our toothbrushes, etc., on washcloths...great attention to detail). The deep-pillow-topped bed was luxurious. Our patio was not usable, as it bordered the parking lot and got noise from a ventilation system nearby, and cigarette smoke from next door. One night our neighbors had a loud, drunken fight (we phoned the front desk and they responded quickly). The next day the manager gifted us a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates, with a hand-written note apologizing for the disturbance. I was disappointed that the very small swimming pool was boiling with boisterous children most of the day, but I enjoyed swimming and walking on Butterfly Beach. Be aware that the hotel website can mislead you into thinking that the massive, beach-front pool featured there is the hotel pool! It is, in fact, in the club across the street, included only with top-level rooms. For other guests the cost is $200/day -- possibly worth it for a family with kids, or if you will use it for a full day. Not worth it for me.

Luxury, beach resortPosted Jul 21, 2014
I stay here quite often and have to admit it gets better and better every time. The staff is friendly and genuine, attentive to your needs and a pleasure to encounter. The property is stunning in and of itself as well as being directly across from Butterfly Beach. The rooms are beautiful and extremely comfortable. It is a true resort getaway in Four Seasons style.
