This place is fine

Posted Jun 6, 2015
Cons: If you've stayed at other Holiday Inn Express hotels then you might expect a huge parking lot-- but not here. They do offer valet parking though ($14)
Location: The flip side of the limited parking is the fantastic location: right off the highway and in the middle of a lot of shops and restaurants.
If you're just passing through, this place is comfortable enough. And it has all the typical conveniences of a Holiday Inn Express (free internet, decent breakfast buffet, etc.). The room I was in was definitely a little dated, but for one night it worked out perfectly.

Dear Mike, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us and offer valuable information on our central location, historic building, and our complimentary breakfast and wifi. We hope you were able to explore State Street and get down to the beach; next time we recommend taking out one of our cruiser bikes! We hope to welcome you back to town again soon! Happy travels.

Gemütliches Hotel in kleinem Dorf

Posted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: Komfort, Frühstück, nettes Personal
Cons: Teilweise laute Geräuschkulisse in der Nacht
Location: Zentral
Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und auch nur wenige Gehminuten vom Strand entfernt. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind zwar klein aber ausreichend und gemütlich.

Pros: Primarily the location
Cons: The breakfast
Not super luxurious, the Holiday Inn Express is nevertheless comfortable and wonderfully located right around the corner from State Street with all of its shopping and dining opportunities. The breakfast is just okay, and would be better with more fruit opportunities and perhaps a gluten-free option in the baked goods section.

Get with the program

Posted Apr 26, 2015 on Hotels
It's past time for the hotel to get with the program on water conservation. I haven't been anyplace in the past twenty years where the shower head gushed so much water - not even New York. It was wonderful - a real time trip to the 1960s - but, Oh, So Wrong for 21ST-Century California! The windows that were broken so that they could not be opened were frustrating at first. You should remove the instructions about how to open them, since you have made that impossible.

Would stay again

Was wonderful, they had free bike rental and we took them out for the day and saw everything along the coast. Its also right in the heart of downtown and walking distance to everything. Was also affordable. The breakfast is very basic. Staff super friendly. Slept really well.

Parking charges

Posted Apr 19, 2015
They charged us for parking. This was not expected. Expedia should have mentioned this clearly when we purchedthe deal.

Great Location

Posted Apr 12, 2015 on Hotels
Would have preferred a room that wasn't in the separate building looking out to the back parking lot. I always wonder if 3rd party booking puts you in those rooms. It was nice being right on State St and close to the pier. Employees were very courteous. Parking is $14 but it goes from 3pm to 3pm so you don't have to seek out parking after checking out.
