Try Paula'a Pancake House about 3 blocks west of King Frederick s Inn. Good food and great staff. Include a Breakfast or Lunch on your stay at King Frederick'$.

Good hotel in a stellar location

Posted Jan 26, 2015
I stayed here in the off season (mid-Jan), and it was pleasant. There's a pool and a hot tub, and I didn't have trouble parking. The location is perfect, right next to pretty much everything in Solvang. My husband and I rented a tandem bike at Wheel Fun Rentals and had a blast. The room was fine, pretty dingy, and the walls very very thin, but it was no big deal. It was cheaper since it was crappier, which was a-ok with me.

A really nice hotel.

I would recommend this to my friends. I'm not the kind of person who likes to stay at a fancy hotel. The inn is actually inside of the town that you won't need to drive your car. The room (the room that I got) is not that big. But, the space is very adequate and looks very cozy. Parking space is only for their guests, I think it's only one car per room. The staffs are very friendly. I will book a room at this place next time.

Close enough to the casino!

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: Close to casino, clean, comfy, not expensive at all
Cons: nothing, it's perfect for what it is
Couldn't get a free room at chumash, and it's too expensive to pay cash. Found this King Frederik Inn, clean, comfy, 8 minutes away. Fabulous. Next time we'll stick around and enjoy the shops right outside the door.

Quite basic but OK. Sparse breakfast even though rye bread and Danish pastry was available. Clean. Good location for town centre.

Nice People,excellent location

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: Location, friendly staff, and continental breakfast with locally baked pastries.
Location: Many wine tasting opportunities within walking distance, trolley service right next door, many unique shops and restaurants close by.
My wife and I drove in from the Inland Empire very early in the morning for her birthday to beat traffic,we arrived at about 8:00 A.M. on Holloween,we went to the office and asked if we could park in their parking lot since it had some empty spaces and we wanted to get some breakfast,I explained our long drive and it being my Wifes birthday and the nice lady checked her computer and actually gave us our room many hours early and offered the continental breakfast and coffee to us,she told us about the holloween parade, haunted house, and festivities happening which were all close or next to the property, the staff were all very nice and we were surprised to find after walking aroud Solvang for a bit,we returned to our room and foung two glasses and a bottle of sparkling cider there for her Birthday.Had a great time the rest of our trip and because of its central location, were able to walk everywhere we went.We would recommend King Fredrick Inn and will stay there again.

Nice motel in the heart of Solvang

Posted Nov 1, 2014
Pros: Clean public and private rooms. Location and staff
Cons: The music from a near by bar was too load until 10pm, when it stopped
Location: Solvang is an quaint Danish style town with interesting shops and restaurants. There are vineyards in the area, as well as an Indian Casino.
We stayed there on a Saturday night. We had two rooms. One had 2 queen beds and was quite spacious. The other had a single queen was of modest size. Both rooms were well decorated and clean. The desk staff was friendly and we had no reason to need their help beyond checking in and out. They have a nice heated pool and several tables in the patio area near the pool. It was a nice experience in the heart of Solvang.
