“Very nice, would definitely return”

The room was charming, very nice, big, with a good layout. There were several unexpected amenities. The room was clean, the staff helpful.

“Not sure if I would go back”

The Inn was nice, however, the hot tub was no bigger than a bathtub. The Inn was quiet at night even with the window open a little. Also I did not walk to State Street at night the area surrounding was ok during the day but would not want to be out at night. The beach and the peir were great to walk to at night though.

“Very good value”

With the exception of a leaky tap in the shower/bath, the room was very well maintained given that it was an older building. The bed was comfortable and the room clean and nicely furnished. It was an easy walk to the wharf/beach as well as State Street. The location is especially good if you consider the easy highway access just a couple of blocks away. A few noisy cars sped bye on the busy street out front, but it didn't keep us awake at night. The continental breakfast got us off to a good start each day and the wine and cheese and cookies and milk each evening were nice touches.

“Comfortable and close to the beach”

Very comfortable hotel, easy parking, easy to walk to the Harbor and Beach. Courteous service and clean. Sambo's by the beach has a fantastic breakfast. The only downside was the bed was getting to soft. Two people sleeping on the bed is uncomfortable. Will go back, but we look at other hotels before making the decision on the next trip.. The Santa Barbara electric shuttle picks up in front of Sambo's. For twenty five cents it takes you up State street.

“Nice Hotel, good location”

The hotel is conveniently located near the beach, wharf, and harbor and freeway (but not close enough that your hear traffic). Not quite within walking distance of the busy part of State street but very easy to get there or other places of interest. Two areas that could be improved: the in-room safe is really too small for anything but an ipod and the set-up for the breakfast isn't practical. Other than that, my mom and I had a wonderful time and enjoy our stay at the Lavender Inn by the Sea.

Area recommendations

Solvang is a very nice town and worth the drive. On the way back, I recommend taking highway 154 back and then head towards the Chumash painted caves by taking Camino Ciello and then the Painted Cave road (don't miss the turn on the right). The road is very windy and in some part allows for only 1 car at a time. The caves themselves may be a little disappointing but the views over Santa Barbara and the Islands are amazing. Another nice spot to go to is Carpinteria. The beach is beautiful and much less windy than by the Wharf in Santa Barbara.

“Great value”

Great value and service. Our only problem was that the room had a "sewer" odor. Don't know if it was coming from the pipes (bathroom) or from the entire hotel. Ones we flushed the toilet several times and opened up the windows it got better. Other then this we had a great stay. Clean, comfortable, service excellent and lots of little perks.

“Southern Comfort”

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Lavender Inn. The exterior reminded us of being in the South. We enjoyed both the wine and cheese and continental breakfast hours. We would definitely recommend the Lavender Inn to our friends and family.

“Would love to go back!”

We totally enjoyed everything about our stay at the Lavender Inn! The staff was always helpful and pleasant. The rooms were very nice and recently remodeled. The tile bathrooms were very nice and clean. The breakfast was always very good and had lots of choices. Wine & cheese in the late afternoon and cookies & milk in the evenings were wonderful too! The pool and hot tub were always clean. We were close to the beach and The Wharf and State Street too, We are very happy with the price we paid when we booked both flight and hotel through Expedia! We are VERY satisfied!!!
