Nice hotel with bad breakfast

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Cons: The breakfast is horrible as the person there helping was rude and the food is below mediocre. Horrible food for a bed and breakfast. Bad bagels.
The rooms, the property, and the location is good.

Montecito Inn

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Hotel very clean, nice decor. Free breakfast a plus. Pool is wonderfully heated, but every so often you can smell the garbage dumpsters...yuck. Also, request a room away from the dumpsters -it can get noisy at night. Overall charming, except for occasional wafts of garbage smell!

Great location. Great staff. thank you

We visit Santa Barbara each year to see relatives in Mission Canyon. Our stay at the Montecito Inn this year was terrific. the location was great; and the service was exception. We enjoyed dinner next door at Lucky's as well.

Room 201

Posted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: Nice room, Didn't hear the Highway from our room. Staff was very friendly.
Cons: In this day and age a power bar for charging electronic devices would have been nice. Also a desk would be nice to use your computer on.
Location: Montecito is a nice small main street type of town. Lots of shops and a few restaurants. Most of the restaurants are on the expensive side.
My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights. The room was very nice, wish the bathroom was larger. In this day and age would have been nice to have a wall plug that was more accessible. Charging two phones and a camera became a chore. Maybe I need to travel with a power strip. Room 201 is over the first floor Restaurant. Which means while in your room early before 10 PM you hear music coming from down there. after 10 PM it was OK. The floor / ceiling isn't that sound proof. Heard noise coming from the above room, during both nights. Yes I am a light sleeper. The pool is a stone's throw away from Highway 101. Not a peaceful place. The Hotel is located at one end of the main street of Montecito. Its a short drive to Santa Barbara. The staff was very helpful. Room was nice and clean.

Nice hotel but bad location and expensive

Posted May 21, 2014
The hotel and room was nice, complimentary tea and coffee appreciated but the room was very small and very expensive. The hotel was about a 45 minute walk from the centre of Santa Barbara. The breakfast was appalling for how much we were paying, we were told we would have to wait 15 minutes for a table and when we finally got in there was only empty cereal bowls and a couple of stale looking croissants to choose from. In the end we went to a place 2 doors down and had a brilliant brunch. Santa Barbara itself is lovely and definitely worth a visit.

I was happy with everything.

Having stayed in Santa Barbara many times, I was very pleased with the Montecito Inn. It seemed a good value, while some hotels in that area are just overpriced and the quality isn't that good.
