Pros: - charming and somewhat - convenient location - breakfast included - coffee, teas and some fruit always available in lobby - nice pool / hot tub
Cons: breakfast mostly industrial food / packaged items, some fruit
- good location close enough to everything in the area - bike rentals really useful - staff very professional and accommodating: due to a small error in their room assignment that we didn't even notice, we were offered a bottle of whine and delivered very promptly. - We were concerned about possible noise from nearby Highway 101 when booking but got a quiet room. Outside by pool area noise noticeable but not disturbing at all.

The wall next to the window was bubbling due to water damage. The window didn't close. The staff was making too much noise in the morning. The walls are too thin.

Historical hotel

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Pros: The history of the place.
Cons: The carpet in the room is a little old and the toilet needs a fan!
Location: The Montecito walking area is very posh and cute. They have an impromptu car show on Sunday mornings Cava is a great restaurant - try it!
Staff is great, there is beautiful marble everywhere and old style interesting details. The fitness center is called 'Exercise room' -- very cute.

OLD. Tiny bathroom

Posted Feb 27, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: The exercise room had just 3 pieces of equipment in a very small room
Location: Close to beach
The room was small but well appointed. The bathroom was very small. The toilet was 2" from the cold tile wall.

Beautiful hotel by the beach

My wife & I had a wonderful time at the Montecito Inn. The staff was very helpful & even got us a reservation at a booked restaurant on Valentine's Day! It's a 10 minute walk to the beach! Highly recommend

Overall it's an okay hotel, rooms are small and noisy, breakfast set up is not the most efficient, limited breakfast! Not the best value for your money, otherwise charming!!

The hotel that feels like a B & B.

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: Its quaint charm, great location to all that's to be enjoyed in the Santa Barbera area. We like the boutique feel compared to the big name hotels.
Cons: When guests stay several days it would be nice to allow them to check out at a later time. We felt a little rushed to leave when checking out.
Location: Perfect location to walk to the beach, sample local restaurants without having to drive anywhere. Historic sites and the other attractions are close
The Montecito Inn has been our favorite place to stay when traveling north out of the L.A. area. We always appreciate the amenities of the hotel because it makes us feel as though we are in a bed and breakfast inn. The staff is the best and have gone out of their way to do little 'extras' without making guests feel as if they're imposing on them. One little bit of advice regarding choice of rooms: avoid the rooms on the NE corner of the hotel. The noise from the kitchen fan motors was disturbing to the point that we had to ask for a room change. The desk quickly made a room change for us and the noise problem was solved. The cafes and restaurants on the street are just a few doors from the Inn and are all delightful to sample - you can't have a bad experience, the local eateries are all wonderful. Enjoy the duck entree in the Montecito Cafe (a favorite of mine) just downstairs on the street side of the lobby. What's not like about Montectio/Santa Barbara? This area will always be one of the most beautiful places to visit and just relax on the whole California coast. We look forward to our next stay at the Montecito Inn.
