Not what I expect

Posted Jan 14, 2010
Pros: - Free WiFi - Close to the beach Cons: - Everything(desk, bed, heater, bathroom, etc...) looks old in this hotel except the TV, but the TV is small(maybe because the room is small.) - They don't even provide hair dryer in room; you have to borrow it from the counter. - The room I stayed is smelly(have no idea what that smell is), and the comforter is not as clean as I expect.

Location, location, location (zoo, beach); otherwise a clear 2-star

Posted Apr 29, 2009
Literally walking distance to the zoo, the beach, bike rental sites, etc. Acceptable room, although the bathroom heater hasn't worked in years, and the bedroom heater is kinda puny. Staff are nice, absent such niceties as room refrigerator or hair dryer. Ya gets what ya pays for, and it is clearly less expensive than other sites in the area (although a Motel 6 is nearby, which I didn't check out. Even I have some standards.)

Very nice place to stay

The hotel was older than I thought but kept up nicely and clean. Wonderful location, walk to beach. Would definitely stay there again.

nice place good value

Very close to the beach but too far out of town to walk back from the sights, bars and restaurants in the centre. The price makes up for it though and taxis are plentiful (around $12 dollars in the evening), although our driver didn't know the hotel and used our GPS machine to find his way there.

Very good hotel

Posted Mar 1, 2009
The hotel was very good! It was clean, but there was an ordor in the room that we could not identify. We were traveling with another couple and their room was not as large as ours, both the room and bathroom were smaller. The front desk personnel were very helpful, but the office doesn't open until 8 AM if you are leaving early be sure to check out the night before.

Good Local Hotel, great price!

while the hotel itself is older, the staff were very helpful, and the room very comfortable. the hotel was 1 block from the beach, and a short drive to downtown. I would definitely stay there again.

Shockingly pleased

Posted Jan 16, 2009
My boyfriend and I stayed two nights at the Pacific Crest Hotel and the first impression was definitely what we expected: an older modeled hotel with the basics. But we couldn't believe that the bed was actually comfortable and the dinky looking shower was actually a nice steady stream with plenty of hot water. The staff was very nice and we had a very peaceful stay. I would go back in a heartbeat because all I need is a bed, shower, electricity and free wi-fi. This hotel fulfilled all of those requirements in addition to being close to all the great things Santa Barbara has to offer.

friendly and helpful staff, located across street from beach

Posted Dec 11, 2008
Hotel was much older than expected, but was clean, and staff super friendly and very helpful. Hotel has some rooms with microwave and fridge but not all have those facilities. No tea or coffee makers in room, but they provide it at reception. It is a short drive to the pier and state street shopping district. Overall I would recommend the hotel.

Great little place near beach and VERY expensive resorts

Posted Dec 11, 2008
A fine, well maintained motel 1/2 block from the beach and the Fess Parker Four Seasons Resort run by some very friendly and helpful people. Our stay made my wife (VERY HARD TO PLEASE) extremely happy. She liked it much more than some much more expensive places we stayed on our trip further up the coast.
