Hotel was nice, staff was nice. Room was good, could have used a little fixing here and there but not falling apart. Would defiantly stay again when visiting the area!

Nice hotel in the heart of Solvang, CAPosted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Nice location - right in the heart of Solvang! Décor is adorable :) Continental breakfast was yummy! The staff is very friendly!
Cons: A bit dated, but charming nonetheless. Unfortunately, we had a room that faced the street and the traffic at night kept us awake for a while.
Location: Our favorite restaurant is the Hitching Post! Located just down the street - literally less that 10 minutes away from Petersen's Village.
This was the first night of our 10 day road trip! My husband and I were very excited and the Petersen's Village staff seemed excited for us. They welcomed us with friendly conversation, showed us to our room and made sure we were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was lovely and the room décor was quite cute! There are fresh pastries and fruit in the lobby along with coffee and tea. It was a great start to wonderful trip :)

Could have been much better, convenient!Posted Jul 31, 2014
Cons: Rooms need updating.
Location: Walking to wine bars, restaurants, and shopping.
This stay at this hotel could be considered acceptable but not anything special. When checking in early I was told there were not many options of rooms based on my selected option on booking. I had stayed here in the past and knew I wanted an upstairs room because the property if old and very noisy when guests are in rooms above you. They only offered me the room I was assigned or I could spend an additional $100 for next level upgrade. I thought that was a bit steep and opted for staying where we were without seeing the room and hoped no one was above us. The room we had was very dark, had peeling wallpaper, needed paint, stains on the couches, chairs, and rug and just was not very pleasing. We did stay the night in this room but as I thought were up all night due to the noise from the upstairs guests. My husband went to the front office and was able to finally convince them that we would need to leave if we did not get another room. Well after discussions about the quality of room and our dissatisfaction, they agreed to an upstairs room. I assumed that this would require a charge but at this time we just needed an alternative since we had no idea if we could even find another place, The new room was a great improvement and much to my surprise.....at check out no additional charge. So.... why did they just not give us this room in the first place and have happy customers? Why didi we have to have one bad night to get one good night?

quiet and old charm hotelPosted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: quietness, staff, proximity to Solvang Theater.
Cons: Garden area rooms could be brightened up a bit.
Location: Wonderful bookstore ( The Book Loft) a few blocks away and the PCPA theater productions staged at the Solvang Theater very close to hotel.
Very quiet hotel and excellent staff and the continental breakfast is also excellent and staged in a lovely room. We are returning next month to see another PCPA production.Highly recommended.
