Rough around the edges

Posted Mar 2, 2015
One front-facing window on each room is a louver, so all external roadway sounds come in. Beds were very squeaky, just to sit on. HeaterA/C unit did not work, even when turned on. Front desk guy was nice. Free cruiser bike rental is a nice option.

Clean but noisy.

Hard to get a good night sleep when there was a barking dog on one side of us and a small group partying on the other.

Not worth the price

Good location, but the walls are so thin we could hear every curse word uttered by the couple arguing next door

Walking Distance to all shops and restaurants

This is a cute hotel. The only downside is that you can hear people talking within the other rooms. My neighbors woke me up in the morning.

Good location, nice staff

Posted Dec 31, 2014
Pros: Location Staff Price Deck patio
Cons: Include a channel guide for TV.
Location: On State Street, not far from Arlington Theatre, Opal restaurant, Carlito's Mexican restaurant, Renaud's bakery/bistro, Granada Theatre, Granada Books
For the location and price, the Presidio is a good option. We were able to walk to great restaurants, shops, and theatres from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We checked in about 4 PM. The guy who checked us in was welcoming, and showed us on a map where (& how to get to) several places of interest. His dinner recommendation was spot on. The girl at checkout the next morning was just as friendly. Our room was a queen double. Beds were comfortable and the room was clean and attractive. We were on the second floor, so our room seemed quite spacious with the high ceiling. The bathroom was clean, and a study in contrasts: new modern toilet, plenty of towels, dated sink & shower. There was a hair dryer on the shelf for guests. The lamp shades in the bedroom had seen better days, but we liked having plenty of choices for lighting. The desk chair had also seen better days. We never did figure out how to turn the heater on. Don't know if it was broken or if it was a case of operator error. It wasn't a problem because the blankets & comforters were warm. If we had been staying longer than one day, I would have asked for some help. I think there may have been a group traveling together, and they wanted to stand outside the rooms and talk. They did a lot of walking around and talking, but all had quieted down by midnight.

the building is older but it's clean, everything works, the bed linens were fresh and super comfortable. the 2nd floor rooms open to an outdoor walkway that leads to a deck with chAirs and tables, really adorable place!

Ok hotel close to downtown

Good beds, not to good wi-fi, not for the one sensitive to sound. Good location but you have to pay for it. Should've been two thirds of the cost if you see to the standard of things.

The staff was very nice, but I was expecting more for the price paid.

Convenient, Quiet stay

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Location: Cantwell Market, a corner store nearby had good coffee and organic offerings,
The bikes available were a nice touch because we enjoy getting some exercise and not having to worry about parking. And they were complimentary with the room. Santa Barbara downtown is a cool, fun, beautiful place to visit. The hotel had ample parking and a good location being not in the middle of the busy area but close enough to be convenient. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bedding was comfortable. The room was clean and comfortable for two, a little cramped for 3-4. Would stay there again.
