Pretty place. Lovely courtyard with tables for breakfast and cocktail hour. Food served was gourmet level. Great brownies and tea at night.

Charming, clean and comfortable!Posted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: The staff, the privacy, the food. The price!
Cons: The locks on our particular cottage were not terribly secure. Can easily be "picked".
Loved this B&B. Staff, including the owner, were extremely pleasant. Beautiful garden courtyard for breakfast, excellent food.

Cute bed and breakfast.Posted Jul 16, 2014
We came here to stay a couple days and meet family members since we live out of state. It was a comfortable place to stay. Cheese and wine at 5:00 was great! Breakfast wasn't our favorite quiche and omelettes. Overall, it was a nice little place for the price.

Close to DowntownPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Location is great.
Cons: Breakfast, accommodations, interior.
Location: Shopping on State street.
House is VERY cluttered and messy. The kitchen is also dirty and cluttered. Everything is outdated, and in piles. If they cleaned up everything it would be easier! Also two rooms are inside the house next to the kitchen so it gets very noisy. They just don't those rooms on Expedia. Half of the breakfast items are store bought. Santa Barbara is expensive it general for hotels, Motel 6 is almost the same price so I would recommend staying here over that hotel.

This was a delightful stay. We were welcomed by Dominique with wine, lovely snacks and good coffee. She bookend a meal for us and when we returned there was hot tea and hot cider plus more snacks. Breakfast was very tasty and very plentiful. We really felt at home. Lovely place

A real secret garden.Posted May 29, 2014
Pros: Quiet, peaceful convenient location. Excellent eating. Friendly staff.
Cons: I can't think of anything
Location: Close to the top of the main thouroughfare, and local shops. Plenty of places to eat. The Mission, Court House and Pier are all about 25 minutes walk.
A real home from home. Olde worlde bedroom in lovely garden where breakfast, including homemade quiche and buns etc, is served. Location is convenient for all the attractions, either walking or catching the tram. Loved the 5 o'clock meeting, great opportunity to meet other guests with wine and nibbles offered. Later in the evening, hot drinks and chocolate brownies for nightcap: yum. The garden is magical with the fairy lights on in the evening. It is surprisingly quiet. The hostess and staff were always charming and helpful. Used the internet on the office P.C. p.s. took some great pics but can't download

Great B&B in the Heart of Santa BarbaraPosted May 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
Secret Garden Inn was centrally located for us, close to the wedding venue for our friend's wedding. You can walk to State Street downtown, a block from McConnell's Ice Cream and only ten minutes walk from Mission Santa Barbara. In terms of the accommodations, the room was cute and nice, perhaps not the finest amenities for the price but overall there was a decent French feel about the place. The innkeeper, Dominique was very friendly and had a good breakfast daily. She always had a quiche, fruit, breads of various types, juice and coffee. There were a few hiccups with the room but nothing worth mentioning. Another nice feature is the parking space and Peanut the cat who is friendly and always about the beautiful garden.

This is a pleasant stay. WiFi is available but not a lot of plugs nor a desk. Not really suited for serious business travel. But very quaint, very comfortable and the food is great. The bed is a little on the hard side. there were in knats in the shower but really that was a minor problem. Things are a little worn but definitely much better than most 3-star chain hotels and motels.
