Nice hotel near beach

Posted May 20, 2015
Nice hotel. Large/Clean lobby. Nice front desk staff. Although, young staff members in the gift shop, spa, and salon were not friendly, welcoming, or knowledgable. Hotel is as close to the beach in Santa Barbara as you can get which is nice. Room felt cramped however. View on the "mountain" side of the hotel was less than appealing. Overall, I felt that the hotel nickle and dimes you for parking and simple amenities that should be included. For price we paid...I thought it would have been a better experience. :(

This is a very big hotel there was a distance between our room and the front desk and restaurants we were hoping to just get a menu from either the front desk or restaurants but no one could get us a menu so we ate else where. One of our pillowcases had a stain on it. There was an area on the sidewalk that had so many ants that when we weren't looking we walked through it and we had ants on our shoes. Not worth the money for staying here.

accommodating!

Other than beautiful setting, we had the patio reserved for brunch for our post wedding party but it was so cold and windy the staff moved us all (about 25) into the dining room without hesitation. Excellent! Also had hair and makeup done for 3 of us before the wedding, catered to our every need, drinks, snacks, great customer service.

Clean, friendly, a bit overpriced

Posted May 5, 2015
Pros: See above
Location: State street was nearby and within walking distance. Stearns Pier was also easy to get to. Good nearby restaurants.
I stayed here recently for a conference and was pleased with my stay. I registered for the conference late and was not able to take advantage of the reduced rates available for attendees. I paid full price for an ocean view room. I stayed in a room in the Fucshia building, which is a single level. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and looked as if it had been recently renovated. I was told, however, that several other attendees had dirty, old looking rooms. The staff was very helpful. The food we were served at the conference (breakfast, snacks, and lunch) was first rate. I did order from room service and it was decent, but overpriced. The walk to State Street and downtown was easy. The pool was small for the size of the hotel, but the beach was easily accessible. I took advantage of the free shuttle from the airport and saved a $50 taxi fee. I would go back.

Great location

We booked 3 rooms for a bachelorette party. 4 people in each room. They all had 2 queen beds and a sink in the bathroom and a sink outside the bathroom in the vanity area which was very convenient. Each room had a balcony. Check in was at 4:00 but we were able to get into our rooms by noon. The staff was very accommodating. Our rooms were very clean. Our tv remote needed new batteries. We were disappointed with the Internet service because if you weren't a Hilton Honors gold or platinum member you had to pay for wi-fi which is ridiculous when you're paying almost $400/night for a room.

Cons: The pool bar/food shack was not open long enough.
I had a very positive experience. The hotel was beautiful and in a perfect location.

First time in California

The hotel is old and dated. It needs to be renovated. Its a weird hotel. I really didn't like the layout of the hotel or the room. The service was excellent. I really enjoyed the hotel buffet breakfast. It was close to the beach and I enjoyed a 3 mile run on Santa Barbara beach.

Tired Hotel near Ocean

Posted Apr 9, 2015
Great location if you want to be near the water. Good place for families with young kids. Property is old and in need of renovation. Feels dirty. Staff is mediocre - appear to be going through the motions. Not even close to a 4 Star hotel.
