a place to sleep

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Cons: Windows only have wood slat blinds. Fine for privacy, but lighting outside my room entrance was so bright all night long that I could read in bed.
Location: It's Santa Barbara...It's all good here
An OLD CA Motel that has been renovated a bit. From the era when you drove through town. Airy, open rooms, mine had a narrow private patio accessed by the second door in the room. I was there for business and the only work space was a table. As this is an old property, electrical outlets were scarce and inconveniently placed, with extension cords for basic lighting. The pools looked inviting and their breakfast room was charming and large enough to accommodate the large number of guests. The very comfortable bed was a platform style at a futon height (about 14" from the floor) and would not be the best for anyone who has trouble getting up from. It was MUCH lower that the images on their website.

So not worth the money stay at the Motel 6 instead

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Cons: Everything.
This place was so old and the rooms were small. The only good thing about this place was the pool and the free coffee. The free breakfast was a joke, it was all carbohydrates. The shower was old and the tile needed major replacement. I spent $200 on this room and I felt like I could have saved $100 if I stayed at a Motel 6. I do not recommend this hotel for the price it costs to stay there.

Great place to lay your head.

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Location, physical attractiveness and upkeep, ease with which to log-in to the internet, and price (extremely reasonable).
Cons: Everything can be improved, but I will go back to the Sandman if they just stay as they are.
I was in Santa Barbara for a conference: stayed three nights and two days. The check-in staff were very pleasant, and answered whatever questions I had, as well as some I didn't ask because the addressed them before I needed to -- such as how to log-in to the internet. The room was comfortable, and well appointed. Nothing fancy: just a great place to wake up, come back to before going to dinner, and to sleep (quite soundly) through the night.

Very pleasant and good value

Posted Jan 23, 2015
Pros: Price, location, cleanliness, the staff, the included breakfast. The lobby is really nice and clean.
Cons: Some items in the rooms could be a little newer, e.g. faucets in the shower, carpet, curtains; a new lick of paint on the door frames.
Location: It is a short drive to town and to the highway. Nearby there is a Macys and several shopping centres with restaurants and a variety of small shops.
The staff were polite and efficient on check-in. The room was clean, spacious and well appointed with a bar fridge, coffee maker, complimentary water on arrival, microwave and TV. Some things could do with an upgrade but everything worked nonetheless. It was also very quiet, perhaps because we were in a block a long way back from State Street. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise. There was a large choice of items in a clean, 50s themed dining room manned by a very helpful staff member. There is also plenty of parking on the site. I requested a late check out and the staff were considerate and helpful. The location is pretty good too, not too far from the centre of town and a short drive to the highway. Overall we really liked this place and feel it was good value for money.

Great breakfast, nice rooms, friendly staff

Posted Jan 21, 2015
This is a great hotel for families because of the extensive breakfast. The staff is always friendly. This place goes above and beyond--tea, juice, and fruit is available at all hours at the front desk. The hot tub and pool are clean and very nice. Our room had a high, beamed ceiling, a mini fridge, and a tub. The location is close to everything but sits back from the road so there is no street noise. We recommend this place to all of our friends, especially people with kids.

Pros: Breakfast area not too crowded, you don't need to struggle to get a table. Outside pool slightly heated, which is nice :-) Iphone charger!
Cons: mattresses! too soft
Location: it is not in the center, but there are several restaurants and small malls
not bad, but not even outstanding - not big value for price

muito boa opção

gostei de tudo, principalmente das camas e do café da manhã, que, para os padrões americanos e tipo de hotel, é acima da média.

Quiet, clean, comfortable bed. Microwave, fridge, TV, and DVD player take up too much space, need a surface In bathroom, too! And another luggage stool. Slept well; that's what counts.. Would recommend. In fact, I went there on the word of a friend.
