This is a lovely hotel. There is a rooftop pool and bar and the view is breathtaking. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was included and was wonderful. Areas of opportunity are the rugs are worn and the staff was not as helpful and friendly as I would expect from this caliber hotel.

very helpful hotel staff, friendly too. Good breakfast buffet. Good restaurant right next to the hotel.
Rooms are a bit small, but since they are mainly used for sleeping, it doesn't make much of a difference.
Walking distance to the city centre is about 30 minutes, walking to the view point is also about 30 minutes.
Only one elevator one the side seemed to go to the 6th floor (all others went as far as the 5th). This tiny elevator to the 6th was frequently used by hotel staff to move luggage up and down (in the mornings and whenever busses arrived). So it was easier to just take other elevators to the 5th and then walk up one floor. Don't spend 2 days, hoping that the elevator will come any second to take you to the 6th, just take it to the 5th and then walk. :)
Depending on the room and side of building, you'll have a very nice view of the city and surrounding hilltops.
Would definitely stay there again!!!

Teresa could not have been more helpful. Upon arrival, she gave us a map and highlighted all of the places to hit on a self guided walking tour. We had a lot of questions and she was incredible patient with us and took the time to give us a lot of information. We asked her about 2 restaurants that had been recommended to us and called them right away to get us in that night. She got a busy signal at one and told us to check back at the desk once we get back from our tour and when we returned, she had very clearly left a note for the night desk manager to confirm our reservation. She was very thorough and very friendly, a lovely way to be welcomed into the lovely city of Florence.

Our family of 4 had a very pleasant stay. It was close to all main attractions but far enough away to enjoy some quite time. Our host was awesome, offering advice that landed us in fantastic restaurants and off to locations we wouldn't have otherwise explored.

We arrived at Dante Hotel to discover that it had just been taken over by new owners who had received minimal handover from the previous owners, I was a bit worried, but no need. Fredericka and her staff were fantastic, could not have been more warm, welcoming and helpful. We had a two bedroom room with a little kitchenette.
The beds were a bit tired and saggy with very flat pillows and the furniture looked worn, but despite all this we were did enjoy our stay.
The breakfast was 'adequate', some boiled eggs, pastries, breads, meats, cheese, juice etc. There was 'fresh fruit', but it was old and not at all appetising - don't know why they bothered. Also, bring insect repellent, my daughter got attacked by mosquitos!
This sounds negative, but we really genuinely did enjoy our stay and would come back again. The owner is in the process of renovating the hotel and some of the 'louder' colours in the decor were being repainted during our stay, so we know it wasn't just talk.

Location just round the corner from Santa Croce great for sights and nightlife. Think should be noted that it's a little hard to find and once you've got through the front doors you then have to go up several flights of stairs to get to the apartment entrance. once you have keys you can then get a lift up most of the stairs. Also there is timer lighting in the stairwells which you need to locate in the dark. Staff very friendly, complimentary breakfast in room is good for late risers, though we only had sparkling water which I thought was a little odd and the 10 a.m checkout is also too early

A large piazza greets visitors arriving at Santa Croce, the principle Franciscan church in Florence. This large complex dates back to the 13th century, and is the burial place for many notable Italians like Michelangelo, Galileo, and Machiavelli. The halls of this church are decorated with frescoes by Giotto.
