Residence Palazzo Odoni

Santa Croce 151 - Fondamenta Minotto, Venice - Map
"We absolutely loved our time at Residence Odoni."
We travel a lot and we enjoyed this place so much. Warm, personal welcome from Michele, great location close to bus terminal and on a quiet, beautiful canal. We loved the feeling of being back in time in a 15th century palazzo - much better than an impersonal chain hotel. The beds were comfy, and the apartment was spacious. Our boys, who are 14, 12 and 5 loved it too. We liked being away from the busy San Marco area - lovely to come home at night to such a refuge. It's not a 5-star hotel, but that's not what we wanted. If you want a full service restaurant, pool, etc., this is not the place for you, but if you want authenticity, space, friendliness and the feeling that you could stay for 6-months, stay at the Odoni!

Santa Croce 134/136, Venice - Map
"Great Traditional Hotel"
Venice is beautiful it was everything we hoped for and more. We loved the relaxed atmosphere to just walk around with no traffic apart from boats. Dump the maps, be a tourist and just follow the signs and arrows if you do get lost its another picture perfect sight you will come across and you still end up back on track, all very easy and make use of the little local bars to try a prosseco and a little nibble or two, great for people watching, recharging the batteries and getting some shade. We enjoyed the sights and an afternoon of island hopping including a stroll on the beach at the lido and a roof top view and champagne cocktail at the Hilton sky roof. Didn;t rate Harrys bar, Belini at 16.50 with no view, only time we felt short changed. We didn't eat at the main square looked expensive and a little serious, we far more enjoy the smaller restaurants which seem to have more atmosphere and local banter. The views from the Tower in the square are great and the Rialto bridge is an experience. We really enjoyed Venice, just my husband and I, it felt very safe, relaxed, full of history and was a perfect break. The money we saved on getting the shuttle bus V water taxi, paid for a private Gondola trip, another great experience and something we had to do in Venice. Loved the whole trip.

"Perfect location"
Had a great stay here! So glad I didn't have to drag my luggage all across Venice. This is close to the train station and the bus stop and still on a canal.

Pocket Guide: Venice Santa Croce Independent Family Hotels

At the start of the Grand Canal, Santa Croce is set immediately across from the bus station and railway station. It is a peaceful quarter adjacent to, but largely unaffected by the visitor hubbub. The picturesque Ponte degli Scalzi is a great place for watching the busy canal traffic and there are many fines churches to explore off the beaten tourist track. The Rialto Bridge is only a 10-minute walk or boat ride away.
