El Dorado is lacking

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: Location is good; one block from Santa Fe Plaza
Cons: Friendlier staff would help tremendously.
El Dorado is tired and needs a face lift. Desk staff and restaurant staff lack training necessary for the hospitality business.

Too big. Facilities and furnishings dated. Not worth the price.

Pros: Very central to the historic district of Santa Fe.
Cons: Rooms are dark with small windows looking out onto a large ugly and barron cement square.
This fortress-like complex has all the charm of a used paper bag. We thought we had returned to the eastern block! However, we soon fell in love with Santa Fe, despite this hotel being our initial introduction.

Other than trash on the floor and a long hair in the shower, everything was great. Makes me wonder about the maid though.

False Advertising

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Desk staff was friendly. Good location.
Cons: Accurate advertising. Shower glass door did not fully close, exercise room a/c did not work and only 1 window could be opened, refrigerator cabinet
Location: Santa Fe Opera, San Q and Santacafe restaurant, shopping for art.
Expedia advertised and booked the room as "Junior Suite King Bed" and priced it accordingly. However, the room was not a suite. It was a nice king room, but definitely NOT a suite. Also, shower glass door did not fully close, pool was much smaller than pictured on the web, hot tub fit only 4 people, exercise room a/c did not work and only 1 window could be opened, refrigerator exterior cabinet door did not fully close, and balcony is only one chair width.

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Convenience, cleanliness, quiet, and great staff.
Location: Shopping all the way to the Plaza!.
Very nice room, maybe 2 blocks to convention center, 3 blocks to the Plaza. Wonderful to get a good rate with Indian Market going on. We enjoyed breakfasts in the hotel dinning room.

Hotel location is ideal for attending opera.

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Location and staff.
Cons: Bedding, see above.
Location: Museums, restaurants and shops.
Hotel staff is exceptional--friendly and helpful. The bedding needs improvement--mattress and pillow are too soft.

Continuing medical education in Santa Fee

Everything was perfect except....we got new towels only once after we called twice and linens were not changed or made up in three days. I'm sure if we had asked it would have been done but we hate to ask.

Nice hotel close to everything. We walked around town, to shops and restaurants. Room (delux king , 2nd floor)was ok but a little dreary and plain, would have liked to upgrade to a room with balcony or terrace and some kind of view, but none available. Cold Infused water in lobby for guests was a nice touch also free bottled water from the desk . Had lunch and a breakfast in Agave lounge , both were tasty. Parking rental car in their garage was a little pricey and unexpected at $24 a day.
