Buyer Beware

We stayed here for a week in August 2011. The front desk and management could learn a lot about customer service and doing the right thing. We booked through El Corazon's vendor, Expedia. When we checked-in, the front desk clerk mentioned a $125.00 per unit housecleaning fee per unit (we rented two units) and when we complained that we never heard about this, the front desk clerk assured us that the fee would be waived since management knew that the fee hadn't started being disclosed on Expedia's site until well after we had booked. At checkout time, the clerk said that we could "take care of the fee with a check or credit card." I rehashed the initial conversation RE waiving the fee, and the response was that no one higher up would waive the fee. Two things about this situation are troubling. First, the complete lack of accountability for what El Corazon's vendor - Expedia - has advertised (or not in this case), and the indefensible nature of this charge, since it was never advertised.
